I listen almost exclusively to podcasts in my car these days. It's nice never having to listen to a radio commercial. Ever. Off the top of my head (because it's too fricken hot to go to my car and grab my iPod), these are the ones I subscribe to:

NPR: All Songs Considered
NPR: All Songs Considered Live Concerts
NPR: World Cafe
NPR: World Cafe Music Next
NPR: Second Stage
NPR: Today's Top Tune
NPR: Popculture
KCRW: Morning Becomes Eclectic
NPR: This American Life
NPR: Wait Wait Don't Tell Me
NPR: Sunday Puzzle
NPR: Michael Feldman's Whad'Ya Know?
KEXP: Song of the Day
KEXP: Music that Matters
KEXP: Live Concerts
KEXP: Sonarchy Radio
Indifeed: Alternative/Modern Rock
Indifeed: Electronica
Smodcast

I bet I'm forgetting one or two. Wow, it doesn't look like nearly that many in the tiny iTunes font. Of course, several of those are single-song podcasts or just a few minutes long. But it's more than a weeks' worth of listening so I never run out. And I get a lot of overlap musically between the different NPR music shows and the KEXP stuff. Which is nice. I get a chance to hear an artists' hit single a couple times, then maybe a 2nd track, then sometimes an interview with a live in-studio performance, then occasionally a recorded live concert.

But man do I hate when I wake up and realize I've forgotten to charge my iPod.

I have XM in my car, but I do listen to a couple of podcasts via iTunes at work:

MouseStation (I contribute to it as well)
Rachel Maddow (when I miss the daily Air America broadcast, which happens frequently)

I used to listen to podcasts primarily. I stopped along the line (perhaps when I was between iPods) but I used to really love Coverville and (duh) The MousePod.

I love Mark Kermode's weekly movie review show from BBC 5 Live.

I still listen to a bunch of Disney ones... (sigh)

It's been so long since I downloaded any new podcasts....or even posted one of my own (sigh).

I used to subscribe to a bunch of NPR and the much missed mousepod.

Coverville had a convention in Vegas a month ago. I have no idea about podcasting, but I went to hang out with a friend for a couple days. We mostly went so she could meet people, and for the concert. Somehow I picked up a free t-shirt.

You know, outside of our mousepod's past podcasts, I haven't listened to any other podcasts really. I should look into them and check 'em out.

I don't listen poscasts since the demise of the MousePod, but I do have a crapload of blogs I'm now reading.

I'm still hoping it's just a record breaking attempt at pod fade.

My commute isn't long enough to listen to podcasts, and I never seem to have the time to catch up so I haven't added any. If I did, it would probably be some NPR ones and maybe BBC.

I subscribe to:
Frommer's travel podcast (not sure if it's still going)
Official Lost podcast (I love Darlton!)

I've added a new Podcast. Only listened to one episode so far but it was enough to sell me - The Bugle. Produced by Times online of London, it's the Daily Show's John Oliver shooting the sh*t with fellow Brit comedian Andy Zaltzman. Funny stuff, refreshingly British, and having listened to Kevin Smith's Smodcast for so long it's a pleasant change to hear banter from a pair of comedians who aren't terminally retarded (not that I don't love Smith's brand of retardation, it's just a nice change of pace).

Digging this thread up after a conversation at the Oscar shorts viewing. Wow, my list has changed quite a bit. Mostly gotten shorter as I got uninterested in several of the music ones and added some other long-form ones.

Here's my new and improved list.

NPR: Sunday Puzzle
NPR: Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me
This American Life
WNYC's Radiolab

NPR: All Songs Considered (wow, down to just one music podcast)

CP and I are absolutely hooked on the comedy thing. There's a group of comedians that are just flooding the airwavespodwaves with hours and hours and hours of stupidly hilarious material. If you're a comedy fan (especially character/improv comedy ala Upright Citizens Brigade) I can't recommend Comedy Death-Ray Radio enough. It routinely leaves us in delightful pain.

Comedy Death Ray Radio!!! Listen to an episode with a comedian you enjoy to start you off and you will be hooked!

Great things about the comedy podcast boom:
1. It's free. No need to buy comedy albums, go see shows.
2. It's fresh. New stuff every week.
3. It's got many different faces. Some are straight interview style, some are free-form rambling, some are just people chatting, some involve games and participation, some are thought provoking, some are completely looney randomness...

A revolution is underway. There is a comedy podcast for YOU! :snap:

Ooh, Planet Money on NPR is continuing to surprise me with interesting stories on economic forces. Their coverage of the Middle East rebellions has been most illuminating.
