Two earth shattering stories regarding the Beatles are circulating today.

Or not.

First - 2 minutes of 44 year old mediocre footage with no sound found!

Second - Pete Best dropped a bombshell, letting the world know that early in their career, he and Paul McCartney were deported from Germany....for lighting condoms on fire!

I've woken up in a different world today.

Well, Paul didn't die until around '67, so he still would have been around to light those condoms.

Gee, you think you know a band, then news like this surfaces. GD, you have rocked my world as well.

Only if you set him on fire.

Ringo's talent was never born

I would think that the millions of drummers who were influenced by his innovative style of playing might disagree just a bit. :)

I hope Ringo outlives Paul, even if he has to kill Mr. McCartney himself

I would think that the millions of drummers who were influenced by his innovative style of playing might disagree just a bit. :)That's true: there are a lot of bad drummers out there.

Interviewer: "Is Ringo the greatest drummer in the world?"
John: "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles."

(And yes, I know that John's criticism of Ringo's playing was always in jest: in a 1980 Playboy interview, he praised his chops).

This reminds me that my habit of reading the newspaper every day without fail began when I used to pore through the newspaper looking for any mention of the Beatles. When they were touring there was something just about every day. I miss that.
