Interesting David Koenig article about the Jungle Cruise (http://www.mouseplanet.com/david/dk050324.htm).

I think some of these changes sound cool, although I don't like the idea of them thinning the foliage. One of the things I've always loved about the JC is that every year, the trees and plants grow and thicken and it becomes more of a jungle.

I'm hopeful that the ride is getting some TLC as it is one of my favorites.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how that ends up looking. The encouraging part of that paragraph is that they've replaced it with foliage native to each area, so the improved theming may make up for the lack of plant coverage.

Otherwise, if they do indeed go through with everything as reported, it sounds like it's going to be pretty cool.

I have read over and over from various sources for years now that the bamboo and other foliage has grown outside their specific areas. There are supposed to be different landscapes (African, Indian, etc) and that letting the plants grow wild ruins that effect.

Hopefully the "thinning" doesn't mean we'll end up with a JC looking like opening day, but still, this is a good thing.

the python, which features a new interactive effect

I wonder how much it weighs and how far it can jump.

I would like to see those trees that were planted upside-down, though.

2500lbs and over 25 feet.

Sheesh, thought everyone knew that! ;)

Bamboo is a VERY invasive plant. If I planted 3 shoots in my backyard, my yard would be a virtual Panda feeding area in no time.

Hey, Honey. Can we get a Panda?

The changes sound great! I especially like the idea of different foliage in each area.

Hey, that reminds me... does anyone here have a copy of the CM Jungle Cruise video? All I have is the audio..

Sounds cool, though the thinning of the foilage and the covering of the Indy quene is a bit of a bummer...

Bamboo is a VERY invasive plant.Tell me about it. My Dad had planted some in our back yard. Several years later, not only had it made its way to out neighbor three houses away, but also grew UNDER THE FOUNDATION and showed up in the front yard!!!
