Story here (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-et-moca19-2008nov19,0,2100731.story). Apparently it is bad enough that Moca is considering selling off its entire collection or merging itself into LACMA and giving up all of its downtown gallery space.

A scathing attack by the LA Times art critic on the Museum's trustees here (http://www.latimes.com/news/la-et-mocaletter20-2008nov20,0,4336787.story).

This article (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/arts/la-et-mocareax21-2008nov21,0,2773384.story) is slightly more upbeat - it says leaders in the LA arts scene are rallying around the Museum.

Bah - they're closing the temporary for 6 months? That's the best part of MOCA - I's sell off the Grand Location before I resorted to that. Guess I better make use of my membership while I still can

Holy ****. Why didn't we know about this sooner?

We should be happy their current plans ONLY include closing the Geffen (my favorite art space in the whole city) for only 6 months. Seems like with the proposed MOCA-LACMA merger its spark-in-the-dark may be lost forever.

The art critic's opinion piece is spot-on. WTF are they thinking?
