Good morning!

Would you please send good vibes, thoughts, prayers, etc for my Dad. I just found out he has a job interview today. He has been out of work for the past two years. You have no idea what a job would mean to his self-esteem and to our entire family. It would be even great news for me because I wouldn't have to pay rent anymore (which would save me $300 a month). I'm mostly concerned with my Dad's self esteem and happiness though.

thanks everyone! :)

Oh phew. Usually when people start "good vibes for my parent" threads it means the parent's in the hospital.

This is a much better reason. Vibrating away (and I haven't even had any coffee).

Thank you everyone! My dad also appreciates it. I've got good news and bad news. The bad news is that the interview was scrapped for today. The good news is that it was rescheduled for Monday. I'll keep y'all updated. Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Keep your fingers crossed!

Living in the Bay Area I'd just like to say that the first thing that came to mind was sending him sex toys (I have no idea how widely known Good Vibrations is outside the area).

If he gets the job, as a reward, maybe I will anyway.

Posting that reminds of a bachelor party I went to for a friend (sorry for hi-jacking your thread BDB). A group of guys went to dinner, a movie (Tomb Raider - Angelina Jolie was in it so it seemed appropriate somehow), and then we went to a strip club.

This guy had been the best man for my wedding. We had gone to the same strip club (Deja Vu in Van Nuys) a couple of years prior for my bachelor party. At the time, my friend "Steve" was a bachelor and a regular at this establishment.

As we were walking in for his party, Steve pulled me aside and mentioned that since his about-to-be brother-in-law was in attendence in this soiree, Steve requested that I keep it on the down low that we had been there previously.

As soon as we walked in the door, a couple of the girls looked up, saw my friend and shouted "Hi Steve; we haven't seen you in a while" and came up to give him a hug.

I still get a giggle thinking about this story.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. How did the interview go?

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread. How did the interview go?

I don't know. My dad isn't back home yet. He said he;d probably would be back by 2 PM Eastern. He isn't here yet which I have to take as a good sign. If the interview was short and sweet he would have been back by now. The longer he is gone the better I think the chances are that he got the job and accepted.

Keeping my fingers crossed....

Thanks! It's now almost 4 and he has not come home yet. He may still be there negotiating or he went to run some other errands. I am not sure yet. I will soon find out.

Here's the latest. I just heard from Mom and she asked if I had heard from him yet. I told her no. He must still be in the meeting which has to be a good sign!

Thanks again everyone! You're the best
