Wow, these (http://freeagent.seagate.com/en-us/) are really inexpensive and tiny, anyone have thoughts on Seagate products?

Also attractive cause I can get a red one.

I've got 2 seagate hard drives. Or did. One broke. So 50/50? Although red does count for something!

Seagate is a good brand. You can get a Western Digital Terabyte for about $120 these days.

The LaCie Tb is also about the same price, but much larger in size than the seagate.

Seagate and Maxtor are the only two I'll trust.

I've known WAY too many Western Digitals that crap out just after they're out of warranty.

My present (200Gb) is a Maxtor and has not had one incident of trouble.

I'm all for downsizing the size (not the capacity) or all the peripheral thingies attached or used with the computer. The only thing I do wish I had was a scanner bed capable of scanning 11x14 size photos. Those do not seem to exist.

Well actually all

But I was referring to the Segate Freeagent. I have it attached to my PC based DVR for some extra recording time. It gets a lot of use.

I've had one of these (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=epson+expression+10000xl&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=2772487878810811611&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&resnum=2&ct=result#ps-sellers) for years -- wonderful scanner!

I should have added or qualified, "in my price range" 2500+ semolians is a little beyond my means right now! :(

Well, obviously I needed to buy a new external hard drive. Any surprise I picked the Freeagent Go in red? Um, nope. :D
