If you find yourself running a little behind in your New Year's Eve planning, you can rest assured that you will get that extra time to wrap things up in time.

New Year 2009 delayed by one second to correct atomic clocks
New Year will arrive a second late when time across the globe is adjusted to account for the changes in the Earth's rotation.

The story (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/science/3698223/New-Year-2009-delayed-by-one-second-to-correct-atomic-clocks.html).

That should help in the preparations at the cabana.

I've been meaning to start that strenuous exercise program. I guess that will be a good time to try that out....

I'm sure my added time will be spent on a couple of extra strokes.

To my cats, of course.

I think we should go....

5.......4........3........2........1...........1.. ........ HAPPY NEW YEAR!But the actual moment takes place at approximately (avoiding getting into a semantical argument about exact timing) a second before midnight GMT, which is 4:00 p.m. PST

Haha then it will go.... 5.......4.......3.......2......... HAPPY NEW YEAR???? Or will we say the "1" because by that time the time will have already happened. Oh I am so confused.

Oh those wacky clock-people.
