Well we are just days from saying adios to 2008 and ringing the New Year of 2009! With a new year comes new expectations, plans, dreams, challenges, and experiences. What do you think and/or hope for the New Year?

While 2008 has been a rough year on a national/global scale I must look back at it in a very positive light. It's been an amazing year for me. No, I haven't found great wealth but I am rich with what really matters in life. My cup runneth over! 2009 shapes up to be even more fantastic in this department. For the first time in years I look towards my future with a sense of renewed hope and optimism. While I always look on the bright side of life it has been really hard in the past few years to feel that way towards the future. In past years I may have known what was right ahead of me but I still felt as if was going nowhere. My life received the spark I so desperately needed this year. While I may not know exactly where my life is headed next year and thereafter, I know the general direction and it excites me.

I hope that next year will bring me and y'all together in person and right now I am almost certain of its likelihood. There is only one way that it won't happen and that would be if the direction my life is taking dictates it (if I go farther down the road faster than I currently anticipate).

Please excuse me for being vague. I do so to keep this thread focused on its intent In other words I don't want it derailed right away...although I know it will happen for some reason. I am just delaying the inevitable.

I just want my Mother's Cookies back :(

My mother and kids baked so many cookies yesterday. Then they packed them up, along with some fudge they also made, and brought them over. So, I may not have Mothers Cookies - but I have mother's cookies and they are delish. Just had to share. :D

You lost your cookies?

I hope you feel better soon! ;)

While life is always a struggle, my hope is that we can stay the course with my family by our side. After all, the trip is only worth taking if it is shared with loved ones.

You may get your wish (http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/apwire/7c84002e7eac3242c6f1c45795919ccd.htm).

The company, maker of Frosted Flakes, Cheez-Its and Eggo waffles, did not disclose terms of the deal. It said it did not purchase any other assets of the company.

The correct usage is "Cheez-It", not "Cheez-Its".

Then how does one indicate multiples?

"Cheez-It" is the plural.

As in, "Mmmm, what a delicious box of Cheezi-it".

I'm not going to NZ in 2009, so I will have more of my vacation time to use on other things. Right now I'm probably going to go to France to follow the last week of the Tour in July. I will also be turning 35 in 2009. Not too thrilled about that. I have the usual resolutions, so I won't bore people with those.

My wish is that 2009 sucks less than the month of December, 2008. That is all.

I'm turning 35 in 2009 - so I'm hoping to ride 35 different rollercoasters in less than a week.

This is a sort of negative 2009 thread. Be careful what your intentions are, peeps.

I hope for even more love in 2009. To be filled with love. More and more love. To live with an open heart. To make the world a better place. To allow no room in myself for cynicism. To choose my thoughts with constant vigilance and allow only those that affirm my worth and fill my world with light.

Wow, I might just tape that to my mirror. Seriously though, 2008 was a sh!tstorm of a year, but even though some terrible things happened I find it ending with some toxic people farther removed and some new, wonderful people closer.

On a practical level, I'm planning Next Page's next fundraiser, and the organization is growing like crazy. Barry Egan and I are going to Tokyo in the summer. I'm expecting more exciting things, I'm just not sure what they are.

I will gladly wave goodbye to 2008. Though, all the **** was worth meeting Barry E., even though he only posted twice. ;)

I expect that 2009 will be less of a year than 2008. Less by exactly one day.

So long as 2009 ends with both Lani and myself alive it will have been an acceptable year, anything else can be dealt with. I keep the bar of expectations low and so far I can honestly say I've been happy with each one so far. Odds seem good for string continuing.

I don't want to see 2008 end. Well i had an awesome year especially the month of April. :) More of my wishes/dreams came true. Something more to cross off my list of things i haven't done.

But all good things come to an end. 2009 for health, happiness, income and continued employment. To celebrate Matt's 35th birthday. Just to take each day as it comes and not to look too far down the road. To live each moment. We never know when it will be our last nor our loved ones. To not take things for granted. I could go on and on but won't. To look forward to more Bon Jovi :) I'm sure to get remarks about that but i don't care. :)
