The Walt Disney Co.'s motion picture arm said Monday it has agreed to a long-term exclusive distribution deal with Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks SKG movie studio after a similar agreement between DreamWorks and Universal Pictures fell apart last week.

Whoa. So now they are Pixar AND Dreamworks? Good for Disney. I suppose it remains to be seen if it's good/bad/neutral for animation.
No, Dreamworks Animation is a separate spun off company from Dreamworks SKG. Animation is still under contract with Paramount.

Ah, okay, that makes more sense.
What's interesting to me is that Disney apparently will distribute under the mostly dead Touchstone label. I was expecting them to keep it all under the Dreamworks name (so they could make the money off of R movies withouth putting a Disney-familiar name on them.

Katzenberg is with Dreamworks Animation not SKG so he hasn't quite yet made the circle.
