Anybody else watch it? Comments?
Didn't move me much either way, though it was -- of course -- mostly well presented though he got ahead of himself a few times. Pretty much what I'd expect.
A little to much eagerness in the audience to stand for each applause line. But that too is standard.
The Jindal response was pretty bad.

CNN is saying that his numbers went up quite a bit amongst Republicans. They are also basically saying that Jindal sucked.
Me, I was watching the season finale of Leverage and an old episode of Doctor Who.

I was slicing and dicing Jawas and force choking the hell out of Rodians.

I do think that the dark plum color of Michelle Obama's outfit was quite lovely.

Watched it. Strong, confident, well-written and well-delivered.
Bobby Jindal is Kenneth Parcell.

I spent the time hammering out final divorce details with my attorney.

I only read the transcript, but it sounded about like what I expected.

Let's just say that the State of this Union will soon be dissolution.
As for the speech, I did catch the beginning bit about oil dependence.

Very astute! Oklahoma and New Hampshire have already passed resolutions demanding that the Federal Government resume adherence to the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Many other state legislatures have similar resolutions drafted.

Watched most of it. Great speech. My favorite moment was when he said that high school dropouts are not acceptable, and that they quitting not only on themselves, but on America. His attitude towards being competitive in the world is admirable - it's competitiveness not through absolute belief that we are better people, but through being a better nation.
He is taking a big risk in sticking to his guns on health care and energy even as he is trying to save the economy. I am so completely behind him on this. These things can't wait.

I loved listening to President Obama last night. Much of what he said resonated with me and I agree on his big point on not quitting, in particular in relation to students.
I think Bobby Jindal looks and sounds like a really creepy mortician. He creeps me out totally.

I know it's terrible, but I kept expecting him to end the speach with "Thank you, come again!".
