-my kid is 19 today.

NINETEEN.

Urk- pushing aside for a moment the horror of being old enough to be the mother of a 19 year old....

This is his number- 303-681-6829

Call him- text him- send birthday wishes so he drowns in them. He is feeling some teenage angst- and his mom won't let him have an underage drinking party at her house (silly me, not wanting to be arrested and stuff)-so let's send the LUV his way.

Cheers!

(I will erase his phone # later-please leave it for now)

Done! :D

hee hee... that was fun. We should do this more often.

I called and he said hello.
I said Happy Birthday!!!!
He said Thanks.
I said by and hung up.

...

He called back - I'm at work but the only one here - and answer like I usually do - but I'm pretty sure it's him. I say Good Morning, (where I work).
He says "who?"
I say - this must be Davis.
He says Yeah. Who's this.
I say - this is Jennifer. I must be the first to call!
He explains that no - his ex girlfriend texted him last night and someone else so I'm the third - but who am I?
I quickly explain that "I'm from the internet"... your mom wants you to have a happy birthday and we - the internet freaks - are helping. hee hee.
Hope you have a happy birthday - and that was that.

Really. That was too fun. Calling someone I don't know to wish them a happy birthday made my morning! Especially since he didn't know what was going on.

You guys need to participate in this!

If you're trying to help with his teenage angst, I don't think having mom's friends bug you on your cell is the way to do it.

He's nice!

I sent him a text, he thanked me. Then he asked my name. I told him and said I hoped his birthday would be great. He sent one more. I hope he has unlimited TMing on his plan! :)

As his mom I trust my judgement-thanks

He knows who MOST of you are- alot of you participated in the birthday cards we did a couple years back-

His teenage angst is just the growing sense that it's time to leave the nest- move on and upward-nothing more.

All kids want an undereage drinking party. Graduation used to be the party to do it at. I've attended one of my husband's family's cousins graduation and my own brothers where the parents took all the keys from all the guests who were drinking. No one was allowed to leave until they were sober enough to drive (could stay the night if need be). Yes it was wrong but hey it was a one time thing and they were under parental supervison as well. But hey each to their own.

I think it's great. This is a way of showing that, even though mom is being a drag in the drinking party department (a wise choice, nowadays), she's got a sense of humor and wants everyone to help him celebrate. He sounds like he's got a sense of humor as well, judging from his reaction. I'll send one along as soon as I'm awake.:coffee:

Across the border, in Idaho, the drinking age was 19 and everyone would hit the State Line nightclubs.. It changed to 21 the year I turned 19, but if you were already 19 at the time you were grandfathered in and allowed to continue partying on. :D
