This one almost slipped past me, but I may have to get to the Edison this Wednesday for this "double feature."
I saw Vermilion Lies open for Amanda Palmer and was captivated at once by their vaudevillian camp. This seems an excellent pairing to me.

Looks like Vermilion Lies (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=13326259) goes on at 8:30 - Doors at 7:00
Also looks like they don't do pre-sale for Lucent any more so it's $20 at the door.

Dang- I'd go if I had a way to get home afterwards.

What a GREAT evening! I have some video I'll have to post later (I got the all but the first seconds of the "Work it Out" dance sequence on film). We stayed later than we intended, but there was ALWAYS something cool going on.

I feel rejuvenated. The evening was just what I needed physically as well as spiritually. Lucent Dossier has really transformed evenings at the Edison, the performances are almost constant and characters have come to fill the various niches proffering their specialties, be it make-up, wishes, fortunes, or foot massages.
Last night Zephyr told me my fortune and released me from some of the soul-sucking that's been at me the past few days. Afterwards, Shrine (the man with the Rejoice sign, washed and massaged my feet - the most unusual and delightful thing I've ever done in a bar. How often does one hear from a passing stranger, "you have such beautiful toes."
We left smiling broadly, later than we expected and earlier than we wanted. This place, it calls me.

Any Wednesday - just pick one ;)The Vermilion Lies night wasn't different? I know Lucent is there every Wednesday, I thought this was an extra special show.

It was, but to be honest - the Edison, swank as it is, is not a very good Music Venue. Too much of the bar has no site lines to the stage, which means harder to get the crowd involved. I think they cut their set short. They put on a good show, but were overshadowed by the Lucent Shenanigans which occur on stage, off stage, and in every nook and cranny.

What's everyone doing April 8th?

It would seem to me that APRIL 1 (aka ...), also a Wednesday, would be a far more appropriate occasion.

For some reason, the first three pictures don't show up (although I was able to see them by looking manually).
Thanks for sharing!
ETA: After I looked at them manually, they showed up. Weird.

*sigh* Lucent Shenanigans... *double sigh*
Must come home on a Wednesday to catch this. If I go into Long Beach Wednesday afternoon, I could pit stop at L&C and head up. Yes... I must somehow make this happen. Yes.
Egads!
