We are doing a last minute trip and coming down to where the sun shines. Gary has an interview the week of the 6th so Zach and I are tagging along. We couldn't pass it up with free flights and hotel, it also has a shuttle to the parks. It helps that park prices are so cheap right now too.

When Zach and I were talking we realized it's been almost three years since we've been and there's a lot to see. He's looking forward to the Subs and the New Toy Story ride, after all he loves the Buzzlightyear ride so much. It should be a great time although from looking at MP it looks like it's going to be really busy. I guess California has their Spring Breaks then, so that means extended hours but huge crowds. We always went during the quieter times so I'm a little nervous there but we'll have time to see everything, I hope.

So does anyone have any advice for me, like don't miss this or avoid that? I was hoping we'd be there for a Sunday to meet up with anyone but it looks like that doesn't happen very often anymore. So I guess it's ok that were flying home on Easter Sunday.

If anyone thinks they'll be in the park it would be great to meet you! I'm sad that it sounds like I won't randomly run into Lisa, like I seem to every trip, ever since they don't have passes anymore.

I'm also sad that I will miss the Bears passing through the NW but Disneyland was a bigger draw, sorry guys :D

Sorry I've made this post so long but I'm excited! So how's the weather been?

Yay and congrats on your trip. Weather right now has been nice for the most part followed by usually on Sundays cooler and rainy days. April showers bring May flowers but we'll see. Usually April is unstable as weather goes.

As for spring break crowds just roll with the flow for the most part. (particular reason i'm avoiding the park for now) With the 2fer and the Birthday Celebration the parks seem busier than ever and Spring Break will definitely be very crowded. Just take advantage of fast pass and any single rider lines and you should be fine. If it rains though that will be a plus since most people leave when it rains. So that could be to your advantage if it does rain.

Just have fun and enjoy your trip. I know i won't be meeting up on Sundays especially Easter or the 2 Sundays after (one being the day after my birthday the other i will be coming back from Vegas). If you ride the subs i'd wait til the end of the evening and the line should be shorter but it all depends. Longest i waited was 45 minutes. Wouldn't wait any longer than that honestly. Toy Story either go to DCA prior to park opening or wait til almost closing time. If you must ride. Also they do have a single rider line and sometimes you do get paired with eachother.

First of all, I hope Gary has a great interview!!!!

I'm sorry I won't see you. We'll be crazy that week prepping for Yosemite (we leave Friday night or Saturday) and my BD is Thursday. Maybe Gary will get a local job and you can come swanking with us!

We'll probably be here and could probably be persuaded to come to the park - crowds and all.

Well I made the only PS that I require, Carnation cafe. Now I can make sure I've been making the soup right. I'll be skipping BB, the prices are just too high and I'm not sure what Z would eat now that he's no longer considered a child.

I guess I'll hope for rain while I'm there, it doesn't bother us Oregonians one bit but if it makes the park emptier I'm all for it!

I would love to meet up with you Pru, we'll be in the park Tues- Sat. Let me know what works for you guys!

I'm so excited. I miss Disneyland. I can't wait to dance down Main Street with my little man! He still tolerates Moms sillyness and even plays along, which may end as soon as he turns 12, but I hope not.

I have to work M-F that week, so Saturday would be the best day for us. We have to go to the market in the morning, but could head down after.

That sounds great. Just let me know a time and place, be specific please about the place I'm sadly not that familiar with all the nuances, and I'd love to meet up. Hopefully the boys will come too but you never know they get distracted easily!

Gary was sorting pics last night and came across the only LoT meet up I've been to. It was the first WB meet, back in 2004, it's hard to believe it's been that long!

So I'm sure I can find the Carnation Garden, at least I think that's what it's called. It seems like a quiet out of the way place, at least last time I was there. ;) Will that work for anyone or do you have a better suggestion?

Sure! Works for me! We're going to try to start going to the market earlier so we can get out in a reasonable time.

Anytime will work for us, so what time would work best for you? I look forward to meeting a few more faces, to put with screen names!

I had Gary help me make an avatar so you'd at least know who you're looking for, that's me and Zach but he's a little taller now.

Ok, back to packing. I've got the kid packed and laundry done, yeah!

cirquelover and Prudence: I just made plans to visit DL and DCA on Saturday, April 11, so it would be great to meet up if you all are there already, too.

Off Topic: What kind of horse show? Just curious ... since I often photograph and write for some equestrian publications.

It's a Gymkhana in Poway. She rides at Poway Valley Riders Association (PVRA). It's also where she plays polo and they have the Poway Rodeo.

Good for her! ... and the horse-show mom, too! If she does extremely well at horse shows, let me know and I might be able to include her in horse-show articles for California Horsetrader magazine.

And, back to staying on topic about Disneyland, I'm glad the repaving of Main Street, U.S.A. is finished, so the horse-drawn streetcars can make their way from Town Square to Central Plaza again. Seeing and hearing the Percherons clip-clop their way down Main Street is part of the timeless Disney magic. :)

She hasn't done many shows and most, like this one, are fun shows. And the 5th place ribbons are pink so she aims for those

I might be able to make 1pm at Carnation. Won't be around for long, as I have to work at 2:30, but I can at least come up early and say hello :)

I'm hoping to do some dancing at Carnation Plaza this evening meaning I'll be there but I don't know if I'll be dancing. Come by and say hello if you're around.:)

cirquelover (plus Gary and Zach), Prudence, Lab Rat, katiesue and Morrigoon: It was great to see you all and meet up on such a perfect spring day! Wish I had arrived earlier, but the U.K. friend (who you saw briefly) and I had just finished an amazing, tender-seat ride on the E.P. Ripley.

cirquelover: Also, please thank Gary for providing insights about the Cirque du Soleil fan community.

Hope to see you all again in the near future. :)

Thank you all for coming to meet up with me! It was great to meet more LoTers IRL!

Daniel- Gary enjoyed talking to you too! There is actually quite a big Cirque based fan group, sadly we've kind of dropped out the last few years. The first unofficial CirqueCon was a blast, we all just happened to be going to a premiere in Montreal and ended up sitting in the same area!

Thanks again to everyone who took time out of their busy days to stop by and say Hi!
