Someone helped me with this before, so hopefully whoever it is can help again.
I have a rather large zip file that I want to send to another person (Well, 2 people). Way too large for Hotmail.
I seem to recall there's a place to do this for free where I upload it to the site and direct the person where to download it?

Rapdishare (http://rapidshare.com)
I think we've used that before Cindy for a project you had me do. Tee Hee! ;)

I think it is. But oh dear... the file I want to share is over 800mb, and the maximum upload is 200mb.
(It's the US maps off the TomTom, I was hoping to share with our non-US TomTom users)
Ah well, not even sure how to upload it from computer back to a nav anyway, so it might not have worked, regardless.
Thanks, though!

You can send files using yahoo instant messenger.
I was going to suggest yousendit.com but their free version stops at 100megs I think. Still - check it out because there may be a free 30 day trial of their paid version and I think that goes up to 1 gig.

Other, not too difficult to use methods:
Make a torrent and send them the torrent file. I recommend using uTorrent (http://www.utorrent.com). You'll be sharing the file on your computer through uTorrent. They'll download it directly from you with uTorrent on their end using the torrent file you send them.
Set up an FTP server. Lots of software out there for doing this and is pretty easy. If you're behind a firewall then you'll need to setup port forwarding so they can "see" your FTP server.

I was going to suggest You Send It (http://www.yousendit.com), but on the free side, the max file is 100 MB

You could setup a free account at Microsoft's SkyDrive (http://skydrive.live.com/). It allows 25GB of free online storage.

(It's the US maps off the TomTom, I was hoping to share with our non-US TomTom users)I hope it works! I know there are codes associated with each map group that are matched to the TomTom unit itself. I once wiped mine, went to reinstall, and it wouldn't let me use them until I called customer service for a new code to unlock them.
But, it never hurts to try. :)
Burn it to a DVD and mail it to him (unless there isn't time for that).

One's in France. But as it turns out, per Lash, shared maps don't install on the device, so the exercise is futile.
Thanks though.
