View Full Version : Scoundrel Broke His Ankle!

We don't know how it happened but he started limping. I took him to the vet today and he has a broken ankle. He will be having surgery tomorrow to pin the ankle back together then he will wear a cast or splint after that. Poor guy! I'm hurting for him right now. :(

I know for some of you he's "the favorite" (I also know some of you hate the brat). Whatever your opinion of him, please keep him in your thoughts tomorrow.

:(

Kind of ironic, since he hates ankles.

Much love to poor Scoundrel.

I bet he got drunk, chased a boy, and slipped in a beer puddle. Isn't that how all ankles are broken?

Ooooof! And we all know what great patients cats make! Hope you all survive the convalescence.

Scoundrel was the first cat to give me kitty lovin's when I first visited. So, of course I'm in the "love Scoundrel" camp!

What a goof. He was prob stealing someone else's toy, or doing something equally silly.

I hope he feels better. Maybe, just maybe, I will bring my purse back to play.

I know the cast will be tiny. Will there be a lottery to decide who gets to sign it?

Here's hoping he's back to Scoundreling in no time.

I love the two Scoundrel camps. He DEFINITELY has opinion about who and what he likes and who or what he doesn't like. Andris wold come over and as soon as he knocked on the door Scoundrel would start with the attitude. It's a good thing he's cute! And, if he lives you, he LOVES you. I think he's the ultimate barometer of who is a cat person and who is not.

I haven't heard from the vet today yet. I'll post when I know what's up.

Taking animals to the vet is always heart wrenching.

The "Why are you doing this to me daddy" look they always give you. :(

Good luck to the little guy. I hope that one day I can be put to the scoundrel test.

He didn't have to have surgery! But he is in a cast - a giant blue smurf cast. And he's NOT happy about it. He's got to be crated for a month. But, no surgery and it was quite a bit cheaper (thank god!).

Thanks for all of the good wishes. it was good day, considering.

Crated for a MONTH? :( Poor guy. Glad it isn't too bad though.

Well, he will be taken out and played with and petted. But, for the most part, he's on light duty. And, he's on a diet.

Gemini Cricket
04-02-2009, 07:47 PM
Poor kitty. Well, at least this will help him get better. I hope he doesn't try to attack his own cast.
Poor Scoundrel.

I keep reading this thread as Ankle Broke His Scoundrel. But I suppose he'd rather be dyslexic than cast-bound and crated up.

Here's to a quick recovery, kitty!

That is great that he didn't need surgery but he's going to be stir crazy before his confiment is up...lots of hugs and petting and once in a while a nom nom treat...even if he is on a diet.

blueerica
04-03-2009, 06:30 AM
Give him extra pettins and belly rubs for me!

And, the diet is probably a good thing... poor guy!

Yay! Good news, except the crating. More extra pets from me. Get well soon little bugger!

I hate to add insult to scoundrel's injury, but, if he's willing, I'd love to see a photo of the poor thing as he's convalescing.

Yes, good news for your bank account, bad news for the confined feline. Poor baby, a month in prison with intermittent play and pet breaks. That'll teach him -- to not do, uh, whatever it was that got you all into this mess. :p

Yes, good news for your bank account, bad news for the confined feline. If I were in NA's shoes and had a choice, I would take the hit to the bank account instead of a month-confined cat.

Except I don't imagine that surgery would have resulted in LESS recovery time.

Not Afraid
04-03-2009, 08:22 PM
Oh no. Surgery would have resulted in 6 weeks in a crate. Plus, all of the other dangers of surgery are not to my liking.

He's doing great. He's actually enjoying his convalescing.
