More information and detailed flier here (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?p=1374114#post1374114).

I'll be there then, so I think I'll take advantage of the margarita discount at Tortilla Jo's.

Oooh, I was thinking of buying a new watch, 20% off @ Fossil would be nice.

Except then you end up with a Fossil watch (I know, most people have had no problem but both I've owned were complete lemons promising I will never again buy one).

Wow, I LOVED my fossil watch. And, hmmmm .....

Alex
04-03-2009, 07:58 AM
I loved the look of the two I had (and previous discussion here has revealed how picky I am about watches). But both of them broke within several months, the first one I had repaired and then it broke again four months later.

The second one, when it broke I just moved on.

oh, I completely understand your reluctance. Mine lasted forever and ever, so the only reluctance I have is that, with a phone on my person at all times, watches are redundant.

But I've decided they look hot ... so I'll mull over returning to the ironic anachronism that keeps time.

I hate having to use my phone for the time, I'm lost without a watch.

Though looking at Fossil's website, even at 20% off, the Fossil watches at Nordstrom Rack are a far better deal, though the selection is obviously limited.

_______

On the subject of watches, I am torn. I really don't have a desire or need to wear one, but they can be such an attractive addition. I have always been a big fan of the watches that € has.

On the plus side, the higher the price of the watch, the bigger savings 20% is. :D

Fossil used to have a good selection of watches in the $60-$80 range. No longer, it seems.

But Nordstrom Rack's got a bunch for $35-$45, a much more palatable price point.

Watch bands pull out arm hair. Thus I don't wear them. Phone works just fine.

Ghoulish Delight
04-03-2009, 09:57 AM
The two watches I own both have bands that are 100% armhair safe. I'm as shocked as anyone. One's a fossil, the other's an Omega.

Alex
04-03-2009, 10:05 AM
I don't know how it is but the metal band on my Movado appears to be of a type that historically has pulled armhair but somehow it does not.

It's magic. Of course, for that price it better do something supernatural.

Oh, and see, I have little use for a timepiece at all. As long as the sun is out, I can tell you what time it is within 15 minutes. At night, not so much, but I couldn't read a watch OR my phone without my glasses anyway.

If you're looking for an armhair seal of approval, GD is the one to go to.

Neither of my bands are elastic. That helps.

At this point, I'm far more likely to take advantage of the margarita discount than the fossil discount.

... my Movado ...Which one do you have? If I was going to get an expensive watch, it would probably be a Movado, probably the Museum (http://www.movado.com/Watches.aspx?Id=collectionmuseum).

This is the closest I could find to my Swiss Army watch. (http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&storeId=301&langId=-1&productId=501309901&linkshare=http://www.stylebyjacquie.com/affiliate) It's my favorite, but I have lots of watches. I feel naked without one, even though I also couldn't read it (or my cell phone) without my glasses.

... but I couldn't read a watch OR my phone without my glasses anyway.
:)

Getting old sucks. I was at the dentist the other day (had to remove my glasses, obvs) and after looking at the x-ray the dentist asked me if I could see the black lines in the root of my tooth on the x-ray. Um, not at all. I realized that my vision really sucks and I am not enjoying this whole getting old thing.

My AP expires on 4/29. I hope to get there to use it before then! And drink a discounted margarita? Sorry, Sd4S!

I got a Fossil watch for Xmas. I exchanged it for another type because it was digital and it didn't light up at night. wtf? Anyway, the one I have now is cool and retro looking. Outside of the digital not lighting up thing, I haven't had many problems with my other Fossil watches. I have 3.

Well there's a large group of AP holders who get no discount at all for Disney stuff so feel free to shut up and stay home.

I thought the discounts were for all levels now? I'm always confused about this. Not for merchandise in the parks or at WoD in DTD, so the promotion would allow lower level APs to also get discounts on merchandise at WoD.

Or, a 50% increase in your existing discount.

innerSpaceman
04-06-2009, 07:22 PM
BTW, I don't know how long they've been doing this, but now when you buy your AP at the ticket booth.... they hand you your AP. No going inside the Park to pick it up. They just print it and give it to you.

Also, you can only apply the price of your free Birthday admission to the cost of your AP if you buy your AP at the Resort ON YOUR BIRTHDAY.

And, of course, you can then pay the remaining cost in 12 monthly, no-interest installments (provided you're a SoCal resident). They've sold 28,000 of these layaway APs since January.

Hmm, can one apply it to an upgrade?

Hmm, can one apply it to an upgrade?

From how I understand it to work, yes. It can also be applied towards parking (I was told you get the 'fun card' and then they deduct the $$ from it). Also, in CA the 'fun cards' don't expire, and they are regular Disneyland gift cards.

In other AP "deal" news:

Costco is still selling a Deluxe AP for $269 with a $50 Disney gift card. If you had an AP that recently expired they can look you up and print it out again.

Hmm, I used to love my Fossil watch. I should dig it out again. I'm sure it still works, as it was a sundial :)

I wonder if that drink discount extends to CMs or not.
