All right, the camp's set up and I'm having my first beer. It was raining pretty hard but as soon as the tent and canopy were in place, the rain stopped completely. Of course.

My nephews Dean and Austin have joined Josh, Todd, and I. So it's me and four teens/tweeners. More beer please.

The air feels so fresh now that the rain has gone (I'm not so sure it's gone for good, though.). Very nice. This campground - The Chimneys - is completely deserted other than us five at the moment. In fact, I haven't seen more than two other cars since we arrived at the lake. I'm sure that will change tomorrow, but for now....freaking fantastic!

More later.

We don't get to go camping until next Wednesday.

It's not my fault Sprint has such good coverage.:p

It's been raining for almost two hours and we're huddled around the campfire like refugees. That's camping, innit?

Actaully, the boys, armed with flashlights, are tramping around looking for salamanders. I'm huddled around the camfire, all by my lonesome. And it is fine.

Sounds like your gig isn't half bad. Hope you scare the crap out of them with beery ghost stories.

Oh Noes

Deserted campsites are the hookman's favorite hunting grounds.

We were on the lookout for Sasquatch (http://sierrasquatch.net/pollockpines_slypark.aspx). We figured a deserted camground would make for prime Sasquatch sighting conditions, but we struck out. Maybe next time we'll use live bait.
