From the Gallery
Featuring artists Don Shank (http://donshank.blogspot.com/), Lou Romano (http://louromano.blogspot.com/), Nate Wragg (http://n8wragg.blogspot.com/) and Scott Morse (http://scottmorse.blogspot.com/). We're celebrating the launch of their highly anticipated book: The Ancient Book of Sex and Science, a follow up to the ever-popular and sold-out The Ancient Book of Myth and War.
From the imagination of some of the most sophisticated artists in the animation industry, this new volume explores the strange frontiers of both sex and science throughout history. From instruments of innovation and the Atomic Age to analysis of the mind, body, and seduction of the human form.
This exhibition will feature original artwork straight from the book's pages, and is a rare oportunity to catch all four very talented guys in one place.

From Nate Wragg

I wish you guys could go too, Heidi.

The first book is wonderful and I'm looking forward to seeing the second book and all of it's art. We own two Nate Wragg pieces (and Heidi and Tom own another). All of the work for these books are done in that great Pixar style (which makes sens since they are (or were?) all Pixar illustrators). For me, it's akin to owning a non-Disney Mary Blair piece.

Here are the artist bios:

Scott Morse has contributed art direction, designs, and storyboards to a plethora of studios, including Universal,
Hanna Barbera, Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Pixar. Morse has also authored over ten graphic novels
and comics collections, including SOULWIND, VISITATIONS, VOLCANIC REVOLVER, MAGIC PICKLE, THE
BAREFOOT SERPENT, SOUTHPAW, and NOBLE BOY.

Lou Romano has worked as a designer and illustrator on distinguished projects such as THE POWERPUFF
GIRLS and THE IRON GIANT, in addition to being the production designer of Pixar’s THE INCREDIBLES and art
director of the upcoming Pixar film UP.

Don Shank has animated for television shows, such as REN & STIMPY, DEXTER’S LAB, and SAMURAI JACK. Ad-
ditionally, Shank has provided development work for THE INCREDIBLES and production design for seasons 2-4 of
THE POWERPUFF GIRLS. He is a recipient of an Annie and two Emmys for his work in animation.

Nate Wragg has worked as an illustrator and designer on various productions including RATATOUILLE, Pixar’s short
film YOUR FRIEND THE RAT and the upcoming TOY STORY 3. In addition to working in animation, he illus-
trated the children’s book TOO MANY COOKS for Walt Disney publishing and has exhibited in New York Society of
Illustrators 50th annual showcase.

Very cool art! Totally swank-a-dellic!

The Incredibles art is some of my favorite Pixar work. This work is totally in that vein.

I was all set to go, but I think I'm just too exhausted. I might have to obtain the book, though.

The show was great! Some of the pieces were absolutely amazing. We met all of the artists, bought the book and had it signed by all 4 of them. Nate Wragg recognized us from the Art and Mayhem show and we had a great conversation. If you get a chance to see the show, do so. It's wonderful.

Oh, and Thurston was a hit with both Nate and Scott Morse. He got lots of love.
