FVCK! I hate news like this!

I spent so many hours of my childhood in front of my TV in awe of Kung Fu.

I was so thrilled that he got a big career jolt from Kill Bill.

And in recent interviews, he sounded so centered.

Now this.

David Carradine found dead - apparent suicide (http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.ap.org/actor-david-carradine-found-dead-bangkok-ap)

Maybe it was a choice he made dispassionately and rationally, or maybe he was in great pain and anguish. (Or, less likely, he was the victim of murder but it doesn't sound like it.) But really, this sucks.

Yes, this is indeed sad news.

I remember watching Kung Fu when I was a kid. Thought it was SO cool. Loved it! And loved his protrayal of Bill in Kill Bill 2. Also got a big kick out of his Yellow Pages (?) ads.

I just looked up his name on IMDb. Man, his list of credits is LONG! He gave us so much!

Well, if so, that puts him in company with Michael Hutchence and Wally Wood.

It's less depressing than suicide for reasons of depression and despair, but still awfully sad.

About the time Kill Bill came out, I was hanging outside at a comic book show waiting for my friend, when David Carradine walked passed me. "What a week," I said as he casually strolled by, puffing on a ciggie. "What -- a -- Week" He looked at me and sort of smirked and I laughed. The line doesn't mean anything and has no significance but I just could not think of anything else to say. When at a loss for words around a celebrity I find its best to blurt out some bit of nonsense.

I was always a big Kung Fu fan back in 73, so it was a treat getting to see him.
