Grad Nite 1995 ticket

I just found my 1995 Grad Nite Ticket. It's in really good shape. I scanned it for my permanent digital collection but am about to throw it away. Anyone here a collector? I'll mail it to you.

I did find at least one ticket blog and I'll just mail it to him for free if no one here bites. I'd rather it end up in a collection than a landfill.

You weren't allowed to wear jeans? I didn't know that 1995 was in the '40s.Yeah, we were pretty pissed at the dress code, especially since it was the night before our graduation, so it's not like we were already dressed for it. One of my friends wore a big black denim jacket with buckles and he was sent back to leave it on the bus.

We were also required to be at the school the following morning bright and early for graduation practice, which suuuucked.

My major DL memories from Grad Nite include riding Indiana Jones for the first time (and practically walking on by the end of the night for a second ride), and being bummed that the Skyway and Subs were gone. Came as quite a shock to me as I hadn't been to DL since I was in jr. high.

We essnetially just got a printout with a timeline, instructions on where to be, and an admonishment to behave.

I believe they threatened to not give you your diploma if you skipped rehearsal. Don't know if they ever followed through on that threat.

It was the kind of thing where everyone said "they wouldn't dare, f this, I'm not showing" and no one dared to stay away. This may be a false memory but I believe one kid didn't show up and he was not allowed to walk across the stage and had to do some summer school or something. I didn't know the guy so all I heard was rumor...

Hmm, that was probably more likely. They probably couldn't do anything to prevent you from getting your actual diploma, but they could keep you from walking. Which probably would have been excellent motivation for some people to not show up.

I guess I was lucky: our Grad Nite was the actual night of our graduation.I remember this being a source of grumbling and rumors about our school not being big enough or rich enough to muscle into the appropriate night. I know DL has multiple Grad Nites, and it would be interesting to find out how they assign each school to each night.

Who gives a crap what the school thinks, but if you disappoint your family on your big day...

Again, I imagine there have to be some # of students in a graduating class of 600+ where, "You mean you will BAN me from having to shake the principal's hand in front of my family?" is a golden ticket.

Yeah, I've had four significant graduation events in my life and so far have only gone to one of them. My interest in high school graduation was extremely passive, the primary reason I went was my girlfriend (future first wife) was valedictorian, but if a way to be barred without actually being in real trouble were presented I might well have jumped at it.

I'll take it if it hasn't been spoken for, or if you don't want to eBay it. (I checked, and unfortunatly they realy don't sell).

I'm a collector of event type tickets. They all look alike now, so I love the older ones.....

And they did wan't to promote a "prom" type feel to these events, and even emulate the old "Date Nites" back in the day when kids did dress up to go out. Disney held on to that rule with a tight fist, only recently to ease up a bit.

I remember my grad night (1986). I kept laughing at all of the girls in the high heels and cocktail dresses.

As for the drugs... We were told that we would be searched at the gate, it didn't happen. Most of the bus I was on was trippin' that night.

No perfume bottles, no pills (even aspirin), nothing that could conceal drugs or achohol.

My sisters got to go to Grad Nite this year (they're Juniors, so I don't quite get it... but I didn't go to high school around here...) and I guess they ended up falling asleep on the train for a couple of hours.
