50 years ago today was the press event for the Great New Stuff at Disneyland, including my beloved Matterhorn Bobsleds.

This reminded me of Matterhorn Fan. Anyone know how she's doing?
HB Mh!
Was the event really called "Great New Stuff"? What else was featured?

That Monorail thingy and some submarines also were featured. :)

Happy Birthday to the three E Tickets born today! I'm only 6 weeks older than they are!
It's nice that they are still all running (though the monorail has issues and subs are re-imagineered after a long slumber).

I wonder, is there an anti-Matterhorn?
Doesn't really matter anyhow.

Chatted with MHF this weekend - she's fine.
Yay for Matterhorn Bobsleds! It's my favorite "date" ride 'cause we get to snuggle up in one compartment.

When did the "Fanasyland side" add strobe lights towards the end and weird ceiling covering in the first cavern room?

And hooray for the endless delays in installing new safety restraints that will prevent future "date" rides.
Oh, the fond memories of gravity assist up the dark lift hill. :D

The weird ceiling covering you're referring to has always been there- if you ride after fireworks, the lights in the area above shine through the mesh.
