I just found groupon (http://groupon.thepoint.com/) kinda like woot, but localized services and businesses at a discount. So far, no groupons I'm interested in, but well worth checking out.
I wouldn't mind a Soupon, if anybody comes across a bowl of one.

So Groupon is not some sort of contraction of Grey Poupon?

Now I'm confused. When I go to the site it automatically has Chicago selected and gives me a coupon for something in Chicago. But if I select Los Angeles all it gives me is the option to enter my email address.

Same thing happened to me, I signed up with my yahoo email and there is a daily groupon for SF.
Maybe the LA site is not active, I dunno.
Hunh. The Chicago groupon is "great for Chicagoans looking to get out of their dirty apartments for an elegant evening.
$99 for a night at the Hyatt Regency. If you get a room and I get a room and 8 others get a room September 4, 5, and 6 (Labor Day Weekend), we get the deal. Chicago Jazz Festival and the White Sox vs. Red Sox, just sayin'.

I'm not giving them my email address before I see what they offer in my area. FAIL.
Every time I see the title I think "I gotta get my groupon!" Whatever that means.
