You already know him.
He's gay, he's single, but he's monstrously ugly. That's a terrible thing to say about Joe.

Alexander Skarsgård Doesn't Sock it Away (http://www.towleroad.com/2010/08/alexander-skarsgard-i-dont-want-a-sock-around-it-for-nude-scenes.html)While Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin wear a "sock" and a "patch", respectively, while filming nude scenes for True Blood, Alexander Skarsgård tells Rolling Stone that he won't wear anything (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebritynews/news/alexander-skarsgard-doesnt-wear-a-sock-during-nude-scenes-2010188). "I don't want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous. If we’re naked in the scene, then I’m naked. I’ve always been that way."
And we'll keep seeing it according to creator Alan Ball (http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/news/17389/191809): "To me, vampires are sex. I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed."
Skars In related news, Pretty on the Outside offers up an alternate three-way male (http://prettyontheoutside.typepad.com/gilmore/2010/08/the-true-blood-rolling-stone-cover-that-should-have-been.html) Rolling Stone cover.
Also in related news, I doubt anyone had a sock around it in this scene from Skarsgård's Swedish film The Dog Trick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeD4WaA8E_s). NSFW

Good for him. I agree - it's gotta be ridiculous to be totally nude except for a co<k sock. That would look and feel insanely stupid.
Does that mean his dick was rubbing against Sookie's leg for the Rolling Stone cover shoot? I really like that photo - but, imo, Sookie's hair is too pristine and needs to be caked with blood a la Carrie.

Sigh, I think I have to give up on True Blood this season. If there's not gonna be a catch-up night, I've missed too many episodes to make any sense of it.
I'll have to wait till it comes out on DVD next year, I guess. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this season, but I'm not liking it. And I'm not being fair to it, catching every third or every other episode.

I have no idea if
AS is coming back next season... and I try to remain unspoilered about that so please...no one ruin it.
But I swear, if they killed off Eric I am going to cut a bitch.
True Blood is the cover of September's Rolling Stone. Alexander Skarsgard is smoking hot but he tries to hard to do model poses and it detracts from it. If I want to see "gazing model" I'll look at an Abercrombie catalog.

While they have certainly broken from the books after Season 1 (which was actually fairly faithful to the first book), taking him out would be a very significant break from the overall storyline.True Blood is the cover of September's Rolling Stone. If I want to see "gazing model" I'll look at an Abercrombie catalog. He looked pretty crappy on the cover of Entertainment Weekly that SM posted previously:

Over lunch I heard extensively about the wonder that is Twilight. From a woman who should be old enough to know better. I was good. I didn't argue; I haven't in fact read the books. I've seen enough to know that I have zero patience for angst, so I have stayed away from the whole affair. The big draw is the buff guys, which obviously does nothing for me. The girl, while pretty in a deer-in-the-headlights kind of way, is insipid at best. And the angst.... ruins the thought.
Not that I mind vampires, but do they all have to be guys?

Susan sent me this:
While most of us are focused on all the new and returning network shows this week, another show premieres in a few days: Sesame Street. Yes, everyone’s favorite show when they were growing up returns for its 41st season on September 27th.
Of course no season of Sesame Street would be complete without the show making fun of pop culture, so they’ve created a parody of HBO’s True Blood called True Mud. Imagine the opening diner scene from the series premiere with puppets. It’s really worth watching.Click me! (http://www.collider.com/2010/09/22/sesame-street-true-mud-parody-true-blood/)

After leaving my book at work over the weekend, I needed something to fill the void. The nearest bookstore is a 1/2 drive and I guess I was lazy because I never got over there.
Instead I downloaded a few episodes of The Vampire Diaries. I gave it a shot when it first came out and didn't get through the episode that was on. This time I started at the beginning and it's official - I'm hooked. I'm on season 1 and just finished ep 3.
Anyone else watching?

Wow. I have a new hero. Amanda Hocking (http://www.novelr.com/2011/02/27/rich-indie-writer). Author of what looks to be sappy pre-teen/teen vampire novels I wouldn't be caught dead reading.
Trylle Trilogy (http://www.amazon.com/Switched-Trylle-Trilogy-Book-ebook/dp/B003VD1GBA/ref=pd_sim_kinc_2?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2): Switched, Torn and Ascend among others.
She's totally self published via Kindle and nook. She has never had a publishing deal. She takes home around $2 per sale and currently sells 100,000+ copies per month.
Again, Wow.

Odd. I don't get that and the page looks fine. It must be the stealth army of the major publishing houses trying to suppress this!
Here is the text from the page:
The Very Rich Indie Writer
Meet Amanda Hocking. She’s been in the news for quite a bit now, and I’ve been meaning to write about her since January (or really, to write about the phenomenon she represents – and what it means for web fiction). But if you don’t already know of her, allow me:
Amanda Hocking is 26* years old. She has 9 self-published books to her name, and sells 100,000+ copies of those ebooks per month. She has never been traditionally published. This is her blog. And it’s no stretch to say – at $3 per book1/70% per sale for the Kindle store – that she makes a lot of money from her monthly book sales. (Perhaps more importantly: a publisher on the private Reading2.0 mailing list has said, to effect: there is no traditional publisher in the world right now that can offer Amanda Hocking terms that are better than what she’s currently getting, right now on the Kindle store, all on her own.)
And that is stunning news.
