Topps to be exclusive licenses baseball card (http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/therundown/2009/08/topps_to_become_exclusive_baseball_card_bud_selig_ michael_eisner.php).

Topps, whose CEO is Michael Eisner, is about to enter a deal in which MLB will license only them to produce baseball cards. Bleh.

Weren't baseball cards already ruined when somebody decided they were a commodity first and a childhood institution third or fourth?

Though when you think about it they are wonderfully archaic as a general idea. Do current kids really have much interest thedr days?

That is disgusting. I hope the MLB turns him down.

My brother has been selling them on Ebay and actually making some money. Other than that he trades them on other sites for different cards.

Baseball cards? Gosh, even if I wanted a pack, I'm not sure where I'd go to steal one.

Thanks! I'll look on ebay. I just want to get rid of them. When I was a kid my friend and I would "work" for her dad and he'd pay us in cards. We were in to Basketball so that's what we picked. I have full Dream Team sets, full All Star sets, a bunch of Magic, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird cards. I should get a Beckett and see how much they are worth, but I really just want them OUT of the house.
