View Full Version : Looking for a good iPod Touch note app

I'm trying to migrate from my beloved Palm Tungsten to the iPod Touch (cause there's no way in fücking hell I'm going to spend >$70/month for iPhone service.) Right now, the only thing holding me back is a lack of a decent note application. The one that comes built in is woefully inadequate. The Palm had a great built-in note app. You could categorize your notes and have it display a list of notes only in a particular category (or all of them, if you prefer.) The iTouch note app only syncs with Outlook and offers no sorting options.

A friend (and iPhone user) suggested EverNote (http://evernote.com/), but that stores your notes in The Cloud and requires you to be connected to the Web to access them. That is unacceptable. I need access to my notes all the time, wireless signal or not.

Any suggestions?

what do you use it for? I actually use a few apps, ShoppingList for shopping lists, ToDo's for to do's, Diamedic for recording insulin shots and blood glucose readings, and the calendar for appointments / places I need to be / etc. Between them, they take care of most of my notes needs, with the built in Notes app being used as an overflow for any other things, such as jotting down random drag names etc.

All sorts of random things. Right now I have 218 different notes. Without a way to categorize them, it's nearly useless to me.

Oh, in that case, why don't you just Take A Note (http://readdle.com/products/takeanote)?

That looks promising! I'll check that out when I get home tonight.

Thank You! :)
