Do you have to go on your birthday to get the gift card?
I know the 12th is out, since my friend takes me to Village Fest (formerly known as Brews in the Village) for my birthday.
If I can get my gift card ion the 13th, that may be a possibilty.

You have to go on your birthday to get the gift card, but you can use it anytime after that....it doesn't have an expiration date.
Hopefully you can come down and pick it up and then head to Village Fest.

At this point in time I can't justify $50 in gas to get a $70 gift card. My b-day is the 10th. A day trip to DLR is out since The Boy has school.

I have no clue what my work schedule will be. I'm currently owned by my noew job for a while, but if I can get away, I'll be at the DLR.

i plan on going to San Francisco ona Daytrip from LA . Frst time in S F.

Um, San Francisco is not possible as a "Day Trip" from Los Angeles, at least not as Day Trips are usually defined (as in something you can get to and back and spend more than an hour there in a single day).
San Francisco is about a 7-hour drive from L.A. It could be a day trip if you fly, I suppose. And with gasoline/petrol prices being what they are, flying isn't that much more expensive.
San Francisco is worth at least a couple of days, tho.

If you're going to do a "day trip" to SF I highly suggest the first flight out and the last flight back. There is so much to see and do though that if you can take a few days that would be your best bet.
I was up there for 4 days and barely scratched the surface of the "standard" stuff, let alone all the hidden treasures.

I have met some from LoT, some from MP before LoT, and some from Mouseadventure, but not actually a LoT meet with the possible exception Of Lisa and Chris with the Bears at DtD for a few minutes. I'm not sure what the eaisiest way would be to meet up at the expo, but maybe we could arrange something. I'm going on Sat. Louis is going on Sunday, and then we have a dinner planned afterwards.

For SF i'm gonna fly from LAX to SFO for $120 or €90 then yeah we're gonna take the first flight in the morning and the last at night .
I know this is a short amount of time for SF but it's my first time outside of the Airport as i had some layover in SFO . I actually saw the Golden Gate bridge when we took off in 2001 .
As everyone is going to the Expo on the Saturday we thought that it would be better for us to go to Magic Mountain that day as the park close at 10pm .
I'll also stay the first night in Anaheim in a motel near Disneyland on Katella . Because i remember the first night we came from Paris we were so tired that i coudln't understand english very well lol . So we figured that spending the first night in the area would be better and we found an awesome deal online for $30 all tax included ( Thanks for the Recession ) .
I've seen the new '' Murphy '' Dragon on youtube and all i can say is that i can"t wait to see it in person .
Does LAX gets some Trouble and/or Flight delays because of the fires ?
alphabassettgrrl
09-04-2009, 04:56 AM
LAX should be far enough away from the fires that you won't have a problem.
Morrigoon
09-04-2009, 08:37 AM
The fires are pretty far away from LAX. Visibility and air quality might be affected, but not enough to interfere with travel.

The coast hasn't been effected by the fires very much. The wind seems to be blowing everything East.

That was me who said to "watch where you are pointing that stick" while you did crowd control on Main Street, as Louis and I walked by.
Louis was feeling a bit under the weather. He picked up a bug and has felt sick since Vegas. We rode Space, had dinner, rode HMH, and called it a day. Sorry we missed you, Wolfy!

Of course. There are only millions of people walking by you on Main Street.
We didn't want to distract you so we said hi and kept moving (after all, that's what you CMs were instructing us to do right after a parade and we wouldn't want to disobey ;) ).
