Check out this awesome guy in Colombia. (http://www.ayokaproductions.org/content/biblioburro-donkey-library) Worth watching the whole thing.

I immediately had to find out how to help this guy, so I wrote to the site. Here's the response I got.

The best way to help Luis is to send money through Western Union - you
can do it online via credit card by going to :
https://wumt.westernunion.com
Then you just have to enter the receiver's country and Luis' name,
Soriano (last name), and Bohorquez (maternal name).

He will be able to get the money from any Western Union in Colombia.
However, please do keep me updated so I can pass on the information as
he may need to provide the sender's info, money transfer control number, etc..

The money you send will greatly help him furnish the library and
install a proper door to keep the books safe.

If you would like to send him books, you can send them to his address in
Valledupar -

{I omitted his info for public display - if you're interested in mailing him something directly please PM me}

I would advise to send anything through private courier to play it
safe as Colombia is not known for the efficiency of its postal
services.

Any books are welcomed, though particularly children books in Spanish.

Thank you so much for your help,

Valentina

I would love to get together a nice big check for this guy to help him build his library. I have no idea how Western Union charges (and their site isn't much help) but I figure one big transaction would be cheaper than many little ones. If you are interested in helping out, please PM me.

Someone in a very tough place is fighting illiteracy and ignorance to help build a brighter future. Yay! :)

Thank you for posting about that CP. I would like to help. About all I can offer at this point is $ and I am willing to contribute to the cause. Unfortunately, time is one thing that I do NOT have :(

Thank you SO MUCH to the people who have contributed. :)

I'm going to send a moneygram tomorrow afternoon. If you want in, please PM me with the amount and I'll front it. You can mail me a check or send me a Paypal "gift" (which is free). Last chance!

Yay! (http://www.ayokaproductions.org/content/biblioburro-updates) This was back in November, I had forgotten to check up on him.

Thanks again to our generous swankers.
