Skip to 45 sec so you can see people moving in real time with the conveyor, then keep watching so you can see the monster in action (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg8YYuLLoM0).

I love real robots. Robots that see things, make decisions, and act quickly. Plus, robots that could be featured in action movie finales in warehouses or scary sci-fi futures.

The ominous music helps, too.

I see Hidden pancake Mickeys everywhere!

Cool robot! Scary robot knows where the pancakes are.

I want to eat pancakes now.

I had pancakes last night at Wailana Coffee House in Waikiki. They have the best pancakes.

It might be time to get a job making robots before one of them takes our jobs.

I like this Robot:

It's cute, breaths fire, and only obeys commands from children

All it needs is a Sailor hat and the name Gozer...

I have never knowingly eaten a ready-made pancake.

Put the pancake robot in the room with the Cloaca machine (it was posted here a while ago..)

Interestingly, this is exactly how ThinKrisps are made.

(I'm creeped out by the VO from 2:29 to 2:45)

Lucy and Ethel could beat that steam drill or die.

I did lose a bit of trust when the narrator said this was part of the final solution.

Screw pancakes! This one can do the dishes (http://www.pcworld.com/article/173788/panasonic_has_big_plans_for_robots.html?tk=rss_new s). Oh yeah.

If it will also clean toilets and dust, I'm so in!

Screw pancakes! This one can do the dishes (http://www.pcworld.com/article/173788/panasonic_has_big_plans_for_robots.html?tk=rss_new s). Oh yeah.Either the translators are doing a poor job or 3/4 of that video did not involve robots. Um, an electric wheelchair? One of those towing things they use at Target to push shopping carts? How are those robots, or even involve robotics?

I also wouldn't say that the first actual robot doesn't do dishes. It picks things up and puts them down. Not to say that isn't impressive, it's something they've been working on forever, but it's a far cry from useful. Hopefully they're shooting for assistance to the disabled.

I used to design food handling conveyor systems. It was fun. Never got to do a robot though. I love robots and that pancake robot is good robot porn.

I do have to wonder though how does handling the product with bare hands (0:45-0:55) help them meet their "stringent hygienic handling of food"?
