quoting from the Chicago Sun Times (http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1821529,CST-NWS-teacher13.article)Dave Burk, who teaches consumer education, is accused of making the comments by his students during an Oct. 5 lecture on tax money involving the National Endowment for the Arts.
"How would you feel about your tax dollars going to pay some black fag in New York to take pictures of other black fags?" Burk allegedly asked, according to student Jordan Hunter. How do I feel about my tax dollars going to pay the salary of a racist homophobe?

Badly, probably, since I believe you once said you shouldn't have to support the schools at all since you don't have kids.
As to the idiot in question, it does sound like the system is working, and he will be gone shortly.
I'm curious if the guy thought he was making some kind of thought provoking Dead Poet's Society type point and failed spectacularly.
Hard to imagine someone as bluntly homophobic wouldn't have raised flags before (he said it in every class so it wasn't an mask-revealing emotional slip up.

Maybe he was trying to say Black Flag in a reference to the product, and his tongue got tied.

Well, the teacher was given a warning that any such further remarks could result in dismissal, and sent back to class on his merry way.
The complainant finds this insufficient punishment, but I disagree. As I understand it, the teacher's been at this school for 28 years. Assuming this is not a repeat complaint of a homophobic racial slur, I think a warning is the perfect disciplinary action.
