Which makes me think about EH1812's suggestion that we make mix tapes (actually - it was a book/music party if I remember correctly). What happened to that idea? Can we resurrect it please?

Oh. And I'm currently listening to a lot of Heavenly, Chocolate USA and even Echo and the Bunnymen.

It was both, actually. A book swap party, and a plea to get some sort of "mix-tape" thing going... I should stick by my bright ideas, eh. I shall happily resurrect the thread and begin thinking about party dates. Should probably happen in March or April, since I live in Hollywood and don't have an AC...

Kid Rock - you never met a motherf*cker quite like me

I love the 'random' setting.

Some current favorites:

The Gerbils
The New Sound of Numbers
Circulatory System
Of Monteal

Yeah, kinda obsessed with the current wave of psych rock going around. Interestingly, while Myriad Harbor is a fantabulous song, everything else from The New Pornographers bores me to tears. Go figure.

I'm listening to Chicago. Unless Yahoo radio is on, then its random stuff...

Apparently, America. Not quite by choice.

My iPod died, and no defibrillator paddle - nor Genius Bar - can resuscitate. So I've been listening to (gasp...) radio. And for whatever reason, for the past week I haven't been feeling the standard KCRW. Perhaps my mornings are eclectic enough right now. So I've been back and forth between an oldies channel, a randomized channel, and a classic rock channel. At the center of the venn diagram of their playlists sits America's "Sister Golden Hair."

This morning, in fact, it came on again while I was on the randomized channel. Amused, I started to text Tom about it, since it was probably the eighth such playing of the song I've caught in the last seven days. I knew he was busy, so I saved the draft for later, and then changed the channel when it went to commercial. I caught the end of another oldie, which was followed by... lucky number nine.

Is the radio trying to tell me something?

I won't meet you in the middle, I won't meet you in the air
Would please cease stalking airwaves, dreadful Sister Golden Hair?

I can't stop listening to the new CD from Lightspeed Champion, which came out in the US last week. Check out his myspace page and blog for a ton of free music. Superb!

Oh yeah, I heard one of their tracks ("Galaxy of the Lost") on KCRW.
