Your list GC~

My sister loves finding graves throughout Hollywood, wherever. Do you look on line for places to go?

Wild Animal Park~ haven't done that in ages...I wouldn't go on a hot day....

Sea World~since you are close, check in to the special where you get the year for a days price? Might need AAA but I am not sure...or it may be two days...but there is/was something.

I want to do the Museum of Tolerance with the family. Went with the 6th graders. So emotional but so relevant.

L.A. has a lot of ghost tours. San Diego does have one, too and I really want to go!!!

How long does it take to get to Hearst Castle? I've only done the first tour. I love it.

Never been to Vegas....like to go for a show....

Missing Tahoe. Stay in a cabin on the lake. Not enough time off of work to go. :(

Lone Pine? Do tell!!

I want to go to the Calico Ghost Town {or whatever it is called} that Knott's gave to the state {?}. I hear you can stay on the grounds {some cabins? camp ground?} and that it is haunted!!! Oooo!!!! But it is far. Am I right?

We only have a trip planned to Yosemite. I say only because we normally hit up Tahoe, Monterey, Frisco, San Simeon. Sadly, not enough time.

Anyone going to Yosemite? We are scheduled to be there 3/12-3/15. Staying at the Lodge.

There were tons of old movies shot in Lone Pine. It's a beautiful area. It's also a short car ride to Mt. Whitney. It's pretty up there...

We did Yosemite (Camp Curry) last Columbus Day weekend. We're going back (to the Lodge) 4/15-4/18. It's wonderful.

Calico is fun. You can camp, or rent a cabin (some are "haunted"). It's not that far, about 3 hours from Orange County, near Barstow, off the 15. One of the guys up there does a ghost walk tour which is pretty fun. They take a group of about 10 people through the ghost town at night. It's pretty dark, and of course everyone hears all the stories and you are pretty much all on a hair trigger when you walk around the town. All you have to do is touch the person next to you to get the whole group to freak out. One person with us was walking through the graveyard during the daytime and looked at us and noticed that there were 5 shadows for 4 people. I'm not sure how much I believe but it's fun nonetheless.

I'll do Yosemite any time.

OK, HERE'S something I'd like to accomplish this Spring........CAMPING.

MouseWife 01-02-2007 12:06 PM

I do love those areas, GC, like along the 395 maybe?

I love the location of the Lodge. We were toying with staying at the Awahnee but it is so far from everything. But they do have a pool....

We've stayed in the cabins and loft rooms at Curry Village. Lisa, the closest I've been to camping in years was Housekeeping camp. We were lucky there weren't any knuckleheads at the time. Lots of families.

That Calico trip sounds like something the LoT gang might enjoy...scares and laughs....

BFL~ LOL I doubt if when the time comes you'll be doing MP alone....

Girlfriend, you have gotten the running bug!! I haven't been running much {outdoors} since the Hubster hurt himself {dah, forget what it is called but it is his foot....}.

I have seen the ones in Montery, too, that look awesome. I think they have short ones {my speed} and long ones that go up the 1. I wouldn't mind being there for the fun but I don't think I could do that. Well, not now. Lucky to run 2 miles on the treadmill.

And, GD is right. That altitude will cut you short! Your breath, that is.
