Finale in 15 mins!!
|
Aaaargh!! We had NO idea the finale was tonight. We tuned in just before the first tribal vote, so we missed all the crap that led up to that. :( Someone will have to fill us in when it's over.

Hell yeah! He's a MAN, baby.
|
Whooo hoooo~ Tom is the man!!!!!
It's nice to see someone win who actually played the game! |
Tom was well deserving. I do wish Ian had made some better strategic decisions. I have no problem with Tom confronting Ian and being a bit put off, but I never understood why Katie was put off, when she had flipped on him. Oh well - at least he got that really nice convertable Corvette.
Was confused over Coby's accusations of Tom. I don't recall Tom directly lying to anyone. I don't despise Katie as so many seem to. She sure did look a little different last night. Was she really that mean and lazy? Jenu and Jenn - lazy. Coby? Mean. I thought it funny when he said he was voted out because he was a threat, when it was clear to me he was voted out because he was being a jerk. Good season. Here's hoping "Survivor Guatemala - the Mayan adventure" (or whatever it's called) is as good. |
Yeah, I thought this was a pretty good season. Definitely better than the last one. The Mayan thing looks interesting too.
Lots of drama at the end but I thought Tom handled the grilling very well. Katie put me off when she refused to answer Janu's question. I don't think that looked good to anyone. But really, she had no chance against Tom, which is why he probably agreed to Ian's offer (which was pretty stupid in and of itself. Ian probably had Tom beat on the final endurance challange) Oh well, stupidity doesn't win Survivor. |
Well, it depends on what was most important to Ian. I thought it stupid at first, but he determined his reputation and the friendships he had with Tom and Katie were more important than money. He felt he'd wronged them, and wanted to make a gesture.
Now, Survivor is all about winning a million. But the people and relationships are real, and I think he was honestly grieved at some things he had said/done (which were stupid - not taking Katie on the reward challange, plotting with Jen and Katie to oust Tom from the final four, saying it would have been a tough decision). So I actually respect him for putting those things above the money. |
Honestly, with Ian's complete inability to stand up to the most simple of questioning, there's no way he would have been able to handle answering to the jury. He would have appologized, back-peddeled, and folded his way straight to second place.
I guess it's cool that Tom won. But I don't know how much he played the game. I mean, with immunity in hand so much, he was almost never threatened and he rarely needed to scramble or change his plans, which is the hardest part of the game. Plus, towards the end, he was turning into a serious bully which kinda put me off of him. |
