In Australia, to cack oneself laughing (or just: "I cacked myself") means you found something very humourous. Things that aussies find terribly funny are therefore referred to as "A Cack"

ie: "I laughed myself to death last night, Dame Edna's such a cack."
or: "Watch this youtube video, it's a real cack."

Hope this explains it a bit better.

Oh lordy! Why did you not say this when you were here! I would have died laughing. :D Especially "I cacked myself!"

I figured all that. But it was more of a cack to think of it the American way.

I have no idea what "cack" means in "the American way." And now I'm at work and not sure I want to be looking it up.

Ghoulish Delight 06-19-2009 08:44 AM

It's not particularly common, but think of a very similar word (different vowel) said with a heavy New England/Boston accent.

I assume "cackle" and "cack" derive from the same root.

As do "cockle" and...oh nevermind...

Good point.

I know exactly how that feels.

Even just a cardboard house suspended by one balloon made to look like lots of tiny balloons would be cool (and more cost effective).

Any balloon reports? We are totally and inexorably blocked. :(
