Based on everything I've heard you found the compromise of mutually assured disappointment.

We both enjoyed it. It wasn't great, but it wasn't sucktastic either. I usually guage a movie by how many times I look at my watch. With POTC III I looked 3-4 times. Ratatouille, none. EA, once.

It is just hard to strike a balance in movies that we see in theaters. There aren't many 'kid' movies worth watching, but he isn't quite ready to handle a more adult theme. Then I have the added hang up with him, if it is real, or has a shred of reality (Dante's Peak, Volcano, Twister ect...) he will have issues. If it is total fantasy (LotR, HP) he is fine with it. The only way I know if there will be a problem is the questions I start to get in the hours following him seeing something he can't handle.

Surf's Up is pretty good, not Ratatouille good but I liked it.

Or traded to the Yankees.

Looks like I'm not getting to see Ratatouille tonight. Instead I get to sit here watching he-who-must-not-be-named play a fvcking video game (Harry Potter for the Wii). Wooo. Exciting.

Thank god for Netflix... at least I have The Producers to entertain me on a Friday night.
