How cool! We were able to get The Boy up there on one of our last visits. When we were walking up, other people tried to follow us. A lot kept pointing up to us and one older gentleman with his grandson asked how do you get to 'cockpit' {whatever that part is called..} and me, being quite happy and quite the cheeky cow said 'Practice, practice, practice'.

Now, it really didn't make sense and he didn't get it nor did he like it.

Isn't it quite the small space? And you really have to work! ;)

I am sorry that I am missing all of the fun. So much going on here. My Chickie may go up tomorrow night after Six Flags....must go and check the closing time....

Missing you, GC! Glad to hear you are having the blastiest blast!

Well...as a follow up to the Mark Twain post...

While taking my son to school we were discussing his schools' upcoming excursion to Disneyland. He is excited as this is a new school and basically all new students; and, he has made a lot of new friends, two that will be going.

So, I said 'Oh, wouldn't that be cool if the three of you were able to steer the Mark Twain like you did??'

His reply.

'Ah, no. Let's save that experience for someone who still believes in the magic. Someone who would really believe they are steering.'

I laughed. {while he is a curmudgeon, I reckoned what he said to your experience, GC, and well, YOU surely did fit the bill, believing in the magic}.

I asked if he remembered meeting you in Monterey and he said yes. I told him you had done just that very same thing yesterday. And, I said, Lisa, the redhead we've met, she did it, too.

Now, I think telling him that really made him think. I hope so. I think at that age kids try to be so grown up. I think it may have to do with being conned about the tooth fairy, etc. But, for him to hear that you guys did it, I think it really made him think. He didn't say anything but I was glad to enlighten him that way.

I think he thinks we have him do things because kids would like it. No. I have him do things because they are fun. :D

Okay...enough of that...

My entire weekend was thrown into a loop.

So, is there a meet tomorrow night for fireworks? Is there still a meet on Sunday?

Hey GC! Sounds like a great time! I hope you get to do all you want to do, and enjoy every minute!

It is a special treat indeed. took MommaLumbo up a few months back... geesh the stairs are steep!.... anyway, i insisted that she "pilot", but i had to assist her with whistle and bell (LOL she could not reach)... she had fun... until, just before Hungry Bear I scared her by saying with an excited tone to "turn HARD right - DON'T hit the restaurant and OH, watch out for those rocks!!"

she said, "here, you'd better drive."

:D

MickeyLumbo~ That's funny! {thanks for the correct term, too}. My husband was doing that to the Boy but I could see on his face being torn 'Is Dad kidding? Am I really steering???? ' I think he was worried and he really kept up at it and was quite serious.

Yes, those stairs are steep. And, not a lot of room up there. But the view! And that feeling!!:snap: :snap:

OK, today's the Day! G.C.'s Disneyland Meet! His last day in California .... (heheheh, for now).

Noon o'clock at the Hub. Twoish o'thirty in the Grand Cal Lobby. Fun, friends, rides, food, happy hour, happy people, the works. (But Brad has to catch a plane in the evening, so come early, come often!)

I cruised by around noon, but I must have been too early, didn't recognize anyone. Sorry I couldn't stay, had 3 little ones in tow. Hope you have a great day!

I admit to being envious. How odd that I would feel that way when the original thought of meeting some (most? all?) of you in June was completely HORRIFYING! :)
