Many kids and a great haul for ours. I won't have to cook for a week. Plus, when we put half a big bowl out at 8:00 with a sign that said "Please take one," the bowl was immediately emptied. Terrible behavior to be sure, but it's good to have the stuff out of the house.

We had about 15 total. A far cry from the hundreds we had in Lakewood. (Last year, we went through 4 of those 105 piece bags.)

I love Bill dearly, but his genteel southern upbringing sometime leaves him clueless. The first time he answered the door last night, he held the bowl out to let them pick their own candy. One tweenie girl scooped up 2 big handsfull and fled. The look on Bills face was priceless!

I'm not sure I'd like to live off Halloween candy for an entire week.

Sounds like a great party. I'm attending one this Saturday, at a funeral home. I haven't got a costume yet. I'm hoping to find something heavily discounted tomorrow.

Sounds like fun. :)

It was a great party except I kept getting pulled back into work all night.
But after a point, I couldn't keep going back in... Drunk Brads don't drive...

I couldn't make it down south to help Disneyphile move, either.

But the good news is is that my friend Jan is one of the best bakers ever.
The pumpkin pie she made was one of the best I've ever tasted.

Hmmm, I didn't run into Cherny last night in WeHo.

I don't understand.

There were only an estimated 300,000 people there .... How could I have missed him?

What were you dressed (or undressed) as, Cherny???

Nor would I. That's why our neighborhood has signed a pact to pass out only raw veggies with a low glycemic load, tofu chunks, lowfat string cheese and pamphlets on world hunger. The kids love it. Just like they go crazy at birthday parties when somebody finally puts a crack in the piñata and the first brocolli florettes spill out for them to gather up and give to the poor.

Oh, that reminds me that my grandma said some teenager came dressed as a naked man last night. I had to clarify that it was a costume and not someone showing up in the buff. Gotta love language barrier.

In other news, my thing at the Boys and Girls Club in Long Beach went really well. Kids seemed really happy and that's what it was all about. Of course, there were kids coming up to my Ring Toss station time and time again, so I had to become a "mean angel" and limit them to three attempts, because I was starting to blow through the candy like CRAZY.

Afterward, hanging out with NA & € was fun, especially trying to sneak into their house, blending in with the zombies outside so that they wouldn't realize we were there.
