Ham (not the thin processed luncheon meat ham, but thick peices of fresh ham steak) and swiss between split buttermilk biscuits. Yum!

I had a "sun dried tomato turkey" sandwich with swiss, mayo and lettuce on sourdough, toasted, with some bread and butter pickles on the side.

I've always thought that was an odd name for pickles. I don't really care for the dill ones much.

so I immediately thought - why are they called bread and butter pickles? And here's the semi-interesting answer:
