I am laughing out loud at this:

Where's My Rake?

flash cartoon, quick-load, NOT work-safe, and roughly PG-13 or so for language, etc. and requires audio

LOL! That was soooo bad - and funny.

I'm reading the new Mickey Monitor.

Apparently a new Irish pub will be opening at Pleasure Island. I quote: "one of Ireland's best-known chefs, Kevin Dundon, will be whipping up the Irish fare with some modern flair."

Potatoes and mutton stew, anyone? I'll have the cream of ________ soup.

I just planted a bunch of Zinnias in my front yard. Right now I'm waiting for the neighbors and their dog to go back inside before I spray the 'Liquid Fence', a spray concoction that actually keeps the deer away. It stinks so baaaaad, like rotten eggs. But it's the only thing that I've found that works. Humans can't really smell it after a couple of days. But right after I spray it....OMG!!

sooo....one final down, two to go. It's so damn frustrating to study so much content and then so little of it is on the exam. Where was the venue? Where was the forum non conveniens? Where was that damn York case that had my knickers in a twist for days? At least it's over. Why am I still up? Gah.

I wonder how early people are going to start lining up tomorrow (if not already)?

Soooooo.........I had three fillings removed today, one inlay put in and 2(!) temporary crowns installed. Following this fun, I went to Starbucks, to the Bank and to Petsmart. As I was playing with the adoption kitties I started to hurt. By the time I got home the anathetic had worn off and my mouth was throbbing. A quick call to my Dentist and a call to the pharmacy by him and Vicodin relief, here I come!

It should make for a fun day in the Park tomroow. Wheee!

Oy.

Soooo...

Where to begin. First, the dentist. After getting that wisdom tooth that was causing me horrific pain pulled, and having one appointment for a return checkup postponed by the dentist, I finally got in yesterday. First checkup in 8 years. Surprise, surprise, the news was not good. Doctor came in, asked if I was having any pain, which I'm not. He looked at my X-rays, then a look inside my mouth, and said, "Uuuh, are you sure you don't have any pain?" Yeah, that bad. Minimum 3 cavities (baring finding collateral damage once the drilling begins), one almost to the nerve. My other 3 wisdom teeth are all over the place and will require a trip to the oral surgeon. And I'm sure I've got some degree of periodontal disease. See, this is why I don't go to the dentist. Okay, maybe this is the result of me not going to the dentist. Maybe.

But my gums don't bleed when I brush or floss, that counts for something right?

And on top of all that, I'm considering switching doctors 'cause, while this guy did an excellent job extracting my tooth, something about the way he does business rubs me the wrong way. He seems to be constantly trying to sell elective cosmetic procedures. As a matter of fact, his assistant admitted to me point blank that he has trained her to push them. That bugs me big time, especially when isntead of telling my all of my options for filling materials, he just put on a video about gold fillings and left the room. So I don't know.

Meanwhile, I'm sick. Gots me a cold, I'm on day 3. It seems to be progressing quickly, only 1 day of sore throat (I've had sore throats that last a week, it's miserable), one day of minor stuffiness, and last night was major congestion and coughing. Today, I'm floating through work on daytime Tylenol cold, wee. I've been chugging OJ, taking my multivitamin, and sucking down cold-eze like nobody's business. My goal is to be healthy by tomorrow because I've got birthday festivities for this weekend. Nothing worse than being sick on your birthday.

GD, I feel your pain. I, too spent way too many years ignoring the dentist and wound up having to undergo some major work - mostly extractions and crowns. Like you, my gums are basically healthy so none of that creepy surgery, but still...

In my own little universe, I'm coming to terms with the fact that my "allergies" are perhaps actually a crappy cold. In a way, it's bad because now I'm officially "sick". On the other hand, colds tend to wind down, while allergies can rage on through the season, so there's a little solace there.

I am sitting at my desk at work right now, hoping that we'll close the office early today so I can get home and continue editing the weekend Special Edition MousePod. I've listened to the first 2 official Disneyland podcasts and was a little underwhelmed by the perspective offered there. For example, without a real Disney POV, there was absolutely no way to communicate how cool the fireworks are and why so many hardcore fans are coming away from the display with tears in their eyes. Luckily, some amazing people from right here (you know who you are) phoned in their impressions of the 5th to my hotline and I have them all saved on my hard drive. Sometime tomorrow, I'll finish a very special show that features more of your voices than mine. (By the way, the Hotline is still open and will remain open at least all summer, so feel free to call anytime with Disney feedback and/or comments - especially if you're "on the scene")

I know I'm probably repeating myself, but the LoT community never stops amazing me. You are such wonderful people - I'm so so happy that I was invited in.
