Today I spent hours feeding documents into a shredder for my departing boss. Yeah, I went to grad school for this...Then, she calls me in to lecture me that my future bosses won't be so understanding about my need for time off to work for hubby...WHA??? I used my vacation for that! And I always thought she respected me for working two jobs all this time...

I really fought the tears at work today. Especially since there have been few nibbles at my resume, at least nothing we could live on. :(

I so hear you. My contract was up at the end of June, and my boss asked me if I'd stay until the move in order to work on some projects and train my replacement. Then she goes and hires someone who not only has no ability to grasp the concepts behind the project (and it's really not that complicated) - but is computer illiterate - and the entire job is done on computers. Yesterday, I had to write step-by-step intstructions for (and I kid you not): 1)how to download email attachments, 2) how to rename a file, and 3) how to cut and paste text. It really shows how much they value me and my position.

As far as the job hunt goes... I'm also in the same boat. While H just got a job offer that's good enough to warrant our move down there, this is the first time in a long time that I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to be doing next. I know I only need one job - but the suspense is killing me...

(Did I mention how proud I am of Heather?)

Painfully, sadly, arduously, no

So, we're getting everything pulled together for the morning trek and she springs on me, "and if they need to do a hysterectomy..."

WTF?!?

(OK, the chances of needing to do this are virtually nil, but we really must work on our presentation skills!!!)
