So we need to have him on antibiotics to get the swelling down so we can find the darned thing, then surgically remove it. In the meantime he's on a bland diet of turkey and rice to keep his tummy happy (he has a couple of overlapping problems) and his face is hugely horribly swollen.

At least he's eating, which is good. He didn't eat for two days straight. And he's not moaning anymore, which is good.

Poor guy. I hope he gets better soon.

I'm scared.

Don't worry. I'm sure it's only a temporary condition.

My mission today is to get a picture of some of the bunny overlords that are taking over my neighborhood. They're cute as hell, even if they're chewing away at some tasty veggies.

What I've learned about their appearance is that some animal rights groups/bunny protectorates have been moving them out of areas that are being developed, and moving them into other neighborhoods. What frightens me is that my neighborhood is developing, too, and I've been seeing more "road kill." In addition, while we've had a coyote or two (I live in Huntington Beach), they're rarely seen. Now I see them at least a couple nights a week, usually standing in the road. Grandma saw two coyotes while taking her regular walk through our neighborhood to the wetlands. She's uncomfortable going on her own now. :(

While I applaud their willingness to save bunny lives, I have to question the efficacy of what they're doing (they will probably die here, too), not to mention the ecological changes as a result. The bunnies have been appearing over the last few months at an alarming rate.

But they're cute, and I'm gonna take pictures. I call the one that seems to like our front yard "Ears." They're not large ears, but they stand up perfectly straight. So cute!

b.e~ you bring up some very valid points! While we love to see the bunnies along the road {LOL, not dead, frollicking in the grass} they do bring the coyotes. Which in turn also eat the cats. Ugh, we've seen the results of that. We thought it might be humans doing it to the cats but the last one I saw did confirm what the animal control told me about it being coyotes.

So sad.

But, the bunnies are cute!!

I feel badly for your grandma, I don't see coyotes during the day but I worry about the dogs that run loose around here.

Please share your desk discovery. I'm in the market for a new one myself.

We've seen coyotes around our place too... which is hardly at the edge of the earth, though the creek bed provides a convenient path down from the wilderness park.

Alex freaks if I off-leash Barnum - he's afraid the coyotes will wander through our condo complex, eating pets.

Craigslist baby! $150. Very similar to mine but with a middle drawer. Now, if the guy with the daybed would just call me back......

Oh, and I completely re-arranged my LR/DR area. I think I need to redecorate to trick myself into cleaning. ;)
