Imagine having a pet with a life span that is only 18 mnths - 2 years. We have 2 old ladies, that turned 2 on April 1st. Both have their own unique health issues that are popping up, so it is just a matter of time before I have to make a heartbreaking decision.

On the other side of things, Boy is on his first weekend visitation. It just so happens that I got the rebuttal to the divorce papers. Now I get to write a response and send it to my lawyer. my goodness the soon to be ex sure has a messed up view of the world, at least as it pertains to me.

It's a lovely 8 trillion degrees in Valencia. Aside from the fireworks at Magic Mountain, the only sound is my anguished cries for ice water.

Ooh! My boyfriend just brought me a glass! I love you, Honey. Your'e my lover and my Gunga Din. :p ;)

I went outside at 8:15 and butchered some roses and started ripping out one of David's bigger landscaping mistakes. Don't ever put down netting, thinking it will keep weeds from growing...all it does is make the weeds impossible to pull out.

He's a better man that I am.

If I ever, I mean EVER, say that I'm doing another moot court project, I want someone to locate me IMMEDIATELY and apply whatever force is necessary to prevent me from signing up.

In fact, if I mention that I'm volunteering for ANY project for which I am not being either paid or graded, I must be stopped at all cost.

We've talked about that. Our decision was easier, because my boy didn't really qualify for back surgery. He has a steroid that I give him sometimes, thyroid pills, and pain pills. He also has a wheelchair. He's been to the vet quite a bit this week; he spent all Wednesday there for a swelling on his face, likely a foxtail lodged somewhere causing trouble.

My tolerance for vet bills is apparently quite high; whatever will help him, I've been willing to do.

I don't know that there's an absolute point... I think it's a balance of likelihood of success, quality of life afterward, and cost of care.

For Barnum, who has a strong likelihood of recovery, even if he won't be quite 100%, it's totally worth it.

I'm glad Barnum has a good chance of recovery; having a gimp dog is not exactly a picnic. It's a risk, when having a long-backed pet, but still, if he could be fixed, it's good. Ottis can't be fixed.

Hopefully the vet can help him and at least give you some time to make your decisions and do some research.

I hope the little guy feelsl better soon.

Thank you for the good news of paying off a credit card and the good car news of being covered by a surprise warranty. I think we could all use the good news this week. I know I need it.

A burro is used to carry a load. "Burrito" is "Little Burro". In a burrito, a tortilla carries food. Just in case you wondered where burrito came from, this is my theory (no proof mind you. I'm not a nutritional anthripologist- I just play one on the internets).

The burrito gets you both coming and going, load wise. A versatile burro, if you will.
