Yes, but how is the boy doing?

He was/is very happy to be home. Man, do I ever feel empty when he isn't around. For the first weekend I think it went ok. He called me 3 times Friday night, only once on Saturday night (to tell me good night). We had some serious snuggle time when he finally woke up.

Part of me just wanted to pump him for information, while the mother in me knew that was the wrong thing to do. He did say that he doesn't really like it over there, that the kids are treated better than he is (he is 10, everything is unfair).

FWIW, I have been avoiding all of the HP threads, but my reason is that I do NOT want to read anything about the book or movie before I experience them (no, I have not seen the 5th movie yet - although Susan and I watched 3 & 4 again last night).

There are 4 whole threads devoted to the new Harry Potter book. They seem to be the only threads with traffic, and I’m not reading them. I feel left out. :(

Barnum update:

He had the surgery Friday night. As of yesterday morning he was already able to walk on his own (if a bit wobbly) and control his bladder. She thinks he can come home tomorrow!

MG~ that is sooo hard not to ask any questions! Especially good not to add to the feeling of things not being fair for him {to him} but to make sure that it isn't true!! Dumb woman, she'd better be treating him really well.

Ally~ LOL that does sound like a pretty good story....almost makes me want to hit my head and come out someone else....;)

I did find my HP books. On the bookshelf where you might find a book. :rolleyes: Behind a picture. Seems we don't have one although I could have sworn we had them all.

Still haven't found the cds, though. :(

I'm off today. Fighting the urge to eat a piece of cake. Mmmm. Why did I make a cake? Because I wanted to!!!

I've learned that my dad has taken it upon himself to record as many family stories in book form as he can. No doubt spurred by his brush with death last year.

Fortunately, he has an invaluable resource to assist him, his 102 year old aunt. Other than being frustrated at her mounting physical limitations, she's still doing great. Sharp as a tack at 102. She's the youngest, and last surviving, of 5 sisters. The others made it into their 90s, save for my grandmother, the smoker, who died of emphyzema, I believe in her 80s. So my dad spent hours visiting her in Seattle this weekend (on the way to and from a trip through the Canadian rockies) and got some details on some 100 year old stories.

I can't wait to read them.

Did you see that episode of Hunter where McCall was in serious danger and Hunter had to come rescue her? That was a great episode.
