Since summer began, I can't drink hot coffee in the morning, so I found myself grabbing Diet Coke (the brand new one in the blue can with vitamins & minerals, even though I'm sure they just grind up one Flintstones chewable and mix it in to the entire vat. :p ) then, I began grabbing Coke when Diet Coke wasn't available. This lasted for about 3 weeks until I was so disgusted with myself for knocking back too much soda pop. I just felt guilty and gross. :( I know lots of people who drink scads and they look and feel great! More so then I could ever hope to! Soda just isn't my personal bag.
So, I switched back to ice tea and ice water. I love apple juice, too. Coke at the movies or with a Bob's Big Boy combo? Mmm..nothin' better! But waking up and practically gargling with it is kinda grody. :( |
I don't drink 4 cokes (or any sodas) in a month!

I used to drink a lot of regular Coke (and like Erica’s teacher, it was only Coca Cola). I tried quitting for a long time. I can’t stand aspartame (makes everything taste like aspirin), so Diet Coke wasn’t an option. I tried going cold turkey, and just drink lots of water; but it never satisfied me. I craved Coke horribly. Then I started drinking flavored Arrowhead sparkling water. That did the trick! I discovered that it was the carbonation I craved! I drink 2-3 big bottles of it every day. Now, when I’m at work, I’ll buy a can of Coke from the vending machine in the morning and only take a couple of sips. The rest stays on my desk, untouched, for the rest of the day. I’ll also sometimes order a Coke to drink when out at a restaurant. That’s it, I never drink Coke at home.

I used to live on Mt. Dew in high school. Probably a 6pk a day. Good thing I was a swimmer.
Look Ma! No cavities :p |
In the last couple of years, I have just lost my appetite for Coke. Even taking a sip is "bleh". I drink gallons of iced tea, especially at lunch (a couple of my regular places used to automatically bring me my own pitcher - they were initially surprised that I would drink the whole thing solo).
If I do have a carbonated beverage, it is usually root beer. Some things are just better with root beer (pizza for example, MUST come with root beer). |

Regular Coca-cola is 97 calories per 8 oz A can is 12 oz. (for cherry the way it works is 104 for 8oz, and a can is 150 calories.) So lets assume that regular is 140 a can... Thats 582 calories in that four cans. your 800 calories a day is actually low. :coffee: Black coffee is actually better. |
