We're out of water so I'm drinking "Champagne"

Did you know Andre now comes with a resealable screw-top?

Yeah - I am the Poseur of Swank right now

Screw tops are becoming big. There is starting to be a shortage of cork trees - and screw tops also prevent the whole cork in the bottle ruining the bottle thing.

I have a friend who works in bottle design for a Napa winery. Apparently screwtops are considered far superior to cork but consumer perception and tradition keeps them from spreading the way many would prefer.

By what I said, I meant - who is on the obvious side, yet is complex enough to have facts that aren't the title of his books?

Yeah, and I'm one of those luddites I'm afraid - I'm sentimental about the cork - Method Champenoise all the way!

Perhaps if the put in rebus puzzles like Lucky Lager they might convince me

During a quick stint working for a wine distributor in SoCal about 7 years ago, I learned a bit about cork vs. screw top. There's a lot of good to be said about the screw top and often - due to public misperception about the quality of a wine with a screw top - there are fantastic deals to be had on great wines.

That said, I do like corks, since there's the process of removing it. I have pleasant associations of social gatherings where I'm removing a cork, so I'm a bit sentimental.

Velveeta wine - the other white wine.

Well, it's still hot, but my overnight for Friday and Saturday got canceled, I made more progress on the office and I feel generally more accomplished if just as sweaty.

I drank Hershey's chocolate syrup from the jar tonight, and gargled moo juice.
