I think we should just take GD, UG42 and € out back and shoot 'em.
Nah. Then what would I do for sex? |
Thanks for the posts, guys. :)

Ooooooh! Good answer!;;)

The fact that I didn't want to shoot UG42 and € in the nuts and then pound their faces into pulp after sitting through 2 hours of 'Sin City' with them must mean that all is forgiven. By the end of the film, I was even feeling bad about GD's tooth.
Gush, gush, I love all you guys, and of course forgive this little prank. (But it might be best to never quite forget this incident and how far I can and cannot safely be pushed.) |

Thanks for your honesty. Although I don't agree with your opinions of Scott and Kevy, at least now I don't have to wonder what was part of a joke and what wasn't. Can I say that I liked the funny Ism better? The angry Ism is a scary thing. I sort of wish that the kind of meanness you posted had never made it onto the boards. I don't know Kevy or Scott very well, honestly. It just makes me a little sad that feelings were hurt. (Even though I know I'm guilty of being mean as much as anyone is.) It's a total flaw of mine that I desperately want everyone to get along. To all that were upset, I'm sorry if I trivialized your feelings. You all have every right to feel whatever way you do. I'm sure that as a community we can grow from this. At the very least we'll all be on our toes a year from now. |

But seriously, I think it's obvious all didn't turn out as anticipated. As much as we'd like to claim to have created a message board utopia we realize it was made by a similar set of flawed human beings. That said, we'll take your input here as some lessons learned, so hopefully as we move forward we'll do things a little better. Nope, can't unring a bell, undo the past, etc., but we can still move forward and that's what I intend to do. |
I'd like to nominate Prudence for the “LoT Post Pulitzer” for this thread.
Any seconds? Anyone? I really feel that she did a magnificent job of summing up the feelings of a lot of us out here who can't attend DL together every Sunday, don't hang out drinking martinis together, and don't shop at the same Sephora. Sure, we all love this place and the family we’ve established here, but some of us just aren't as privy as others to the inner dynamics functioning within the core of posters who created these boards. As unbelievable as some of the things brought up here may be to those of you in the LoT inner-sanctum, those of us out here could very well be led into believing that the group could melt down and close friendships could be thrown aside in anger. Let's face it, one thing that a lot of us here have in common is a fiery personality, or at least one that can get fiery if prodded. To believe that any of our personalities or relationships are invulnerable to flaring up at any time, and at anyone, is a little bit naive. As swanky as we are, we're still just people. Like Prudence said, some features were devilish and funny, but others were a little too extreme. I’d be all for a repeat next year though. With the lessons learned this year, and the creativity flowing freely through many of the people here, I’m sure that the mother of all pranks can be concocted.... in a happy way. :) |
