Here is the GS.org info on cookies offered nationwide. It appears as though the OC council recently switched from Little Brownie to ABC. Perhaps they were making an association between the two as they are very similar cookies. Each bakery is required to offer Thin Mints, Do-Si-Does and Shortbread. The other offerings come from a list but are at the discretion of the 2 bakeries (which is also why some cookies are called by 2 different names-- depends on the bakery). Unlike Somoas and Caramel D'Lites (which are ostensibly the same), these 2 cookies may be similar but they are not the same. Prior to Thanks-a-Lot, ABC offered Animal Treasures not All Abouts.

eta: There is a possibility that All Abouts were offered prior to 2005 by ABC which is when O became involved in GS. (But I believe they have always been an exclusive offering of LBB and were offered up until last year.)

I can't remember what those were called. Try "Thanks-a-lot". They are shortbread (which is the same "white" cookie as the one you liked) with a thin chocolate layer on the bottom. One of my favorites.

THAT'S THEM!!!! And they still have them

Phew!

Phew, indeed!

I tried to get O to go out the car and get me a box tonight. She refused. I swear, I've got the cookie itch.

I'm so glad they come in convenient single-serving trays

Not quite. I remember the ones you're talking about and they specifically had stripes of chocolate, on the top if I recall correctly. Thanks-a-lots have a full chocolate layer on the bottom.

I tolerate Thanks-A-Lots because they are delicious and the generic messages of thanks printed on them are innocuous enough. I DETESTED All-A-Abouts because the "It's All About ___________" messages on them were beyond lame.

I'm just glad they don't come 2 trays per box.

I still haven't gone out to the car. I'm going to punish myself by eating some cheese.

Just finished and filed the taxes. Yeah!

All this talk of GS cookies is making me hungry. I could just about eat one of those "single serving" packages Kevy was talking about. Is it terribly gauche to eat last year's (remaining) cookies in anticipation of the new batch?

Oh, and someone IS holding a box of ThinMints for the Lashes, right?

I've got the Thin Mints for the boys covered...
