I don't see how. I come out never buying things I don't really want outside of a grocery store because I can't resist the swarm of suburban peer pressure.

I'd say I'm the big winner. And the Boy Scouts (as an organization) are assholes (individually I'm sure some are very nice people). Win-win.

I say "not today".... it's not like I'm saying no forever. Just no for today. (okay - it really is forever but I don't feel bad about telling them no then.)

I'm a sucker for the girl scouts. Everyone else gets told I have no cash. And I don't carry checks. I don't have to worry until they start taking plastic.

I have successfully avoided the GS for the last couple years. The cookies just got to expensive and I swear the packages are smaller too!

I miss the old thin mints that actually had a little blob of mint cream in them.

I think I'd be worried about eating the peanut butter sandwich ones, what with all the peanut butter scares right now.

So the Thin Mints did used to be different? Because I could swear that I used to like them, but when I tried them again a few years ago I thought they were awful. I just don't like them at all. Dry and fake chocolate-y tasting they are.

Samoas on the other hand..... Fortunately I don't usually do the grocery shopping, nor am I located anywhere near a LoT reseller.

I've decided that a little salmonella isn't sufficient threat to keep me from peanut butter anything.

If the CDC held a press conference and held up a spoonful of peanut butter saying "this here is a sample of the tainted stuff" I'd be tempted to eat it if offered.

Absolutely not. It's what you should do. You have to cycle out the old to make way for the new.

Betty 01-30-2009 11:42 AM

FYI - the cookies and/or the packages are getting smaller. There was a news story this morning saying that some packages held fewer cookies then last year and others had the same number but the cookies were smaller in size.

They did that so they woudln't have to raise prices.

Fancy chocolate sure is expensive and I don't even particularly care for the stuff.

Oh well, better than spending another hour at BevMo pretending that I care about wine and trying to pick one as a decent hostess gift.
