Of course!

Baseball-shmaseball... I've decided that I can watch a game on TV if I just need background noise, but otherwise, it's the most boring thing ever captured with a lens. On the other hand, there are few things I love more than going to a baseball game. I figure it's the entire experience. I'm interested in the sport enough to know what's going on, but the peanuts, the one hot dog I'll eat all year, the beer, the friends, the loud guy that's inevitably nearby... They make baseball great.

Even supermarket California rolls can be great if you're REALLY in the mood for sushi at 9:30 at night.

But having spent nearly $100 on groceries as a result of going to the market for late-night sushi, I'd have done better to go to a fancy sushi place for a spider roll. Cheaper.

But then I wouldn't have plastic bags ;)

Erica, I'm right there with you. To watch a game on TV, I would have to care about the outcome, which I've never been able to do.

Going to a game, however, makes it an EVENT. The whole ambiance of the experience is wonderful. All those things you mention, plus there is nothing like the slow transition from evening, through magic hour and into night, all outside the magical cocoon of the stadium lights.

I don't know if that affects anyone else, but that's always been my favorite part.

Soooo.... after seeing over almost two dozen homes that we didn't want to rent, we finally found one that we did. We signed the lease yesterday, so in a few short weeks we will be Los Angeles residents. Thanks to all who provided support and advice. We look forward to seeing you SoCal LoTers real soon.
