Trailer for Where the Wild Things Are.

Yes... They are making a movie of that book. I'm rather intrigued by it based on the trailer. What do you think?

Speaking of dancing...

Did you know?

This was pretty cool and had some interesting things to think about.

No, it's not Improv Everywhere
Yes, it's just like the TMobile stunt*
But I still liked it. :)

*The event was staged last month to promote a Dutch TV talent show searching for the next Maria von Trapp.

Happy! I like happy.

It LOOKS beautiful, it looks like they absolutely nailed bringing the illustrations to life.

It had been a LONG time since I've read the book, I did not recall the story. CP brought it home from the library for me, at which point I realized why I didn't remember the story. There IS no story. That's the beauty of the book, it's the absolute essence of innocent childhood fantasy. What little "story" exists outside of the world of the wild things is sublimely minimalistic, a tiny snippit of reality to connect you with the kid, and nothing more.

I can't possibly see how adding a movie about childhood angst or family strife or whatever blather they've made it around 30 genius lines of silly fancy will do anything but harm. Not to the book, that is untouchably timeless. But I do not hold any high hopes for the movie.
