LOL! Meth, most certainly, does NOT give you the munchies.

On a side note, when did the GCH entrance to DCA start enforcing the, "Must be a guest of the hotel," thingy? Nick and I were challenged this morning... She let us go, but with a one time only type statement.

Must be a newbie working the gate. Besides, like the "Just this time" is going to mean anything to any one next week! That's such a joke.....

Mousey Girl 08-11-2007 09:44 PM

I know I was a tad smart-assed in my response that I had never been asked that before. She was taken aback when I asked her when they started enforcing that policy. I was nice, but she didn't have an answer for me.

She also just asked to see our hotel key, not the charge slip that is used for early entry. I will look around for an old key card and keep it in my wallet.

Sometimes they don't let you use the gate early or before a certain time if you aren't a hotel guest.

Also - I've never understood the disconnect between wearing a bikini at the beach and wearing a bikini elsewhere. Either you can wear it in public or you can't. And no, I don't mean to church, or to the office, but just out and about. Not that I've been tempted, if only because I'd be an anomaly.

I am also amused by people that are perfectly okay with being seen in a bikini, but are mortified is seen in their underwear. Specifically when the underwear covers MORE than the bikini!

Did you know that In Vitro Fertilization costs about $15,000 per attempt and that there is only a 35-40% chance of success?

Our insurance would generously cover about $300 of that

I cried when we left the clinic yesterday.

alphabassettgrrl 08-11-2007 10:48 PM

Ouch, Kevy. How generous of the insurance. Sounds about right though.

I hope for a better solution for the two of you.
**hugs**

Awww, hugs Kevy.

Is IVF needed still, even post op?

Also, have you looked into medical tourism?

After two weeks of Internet research and several late-night phone calls to clinics around the world — seeking information on everything from success rates to lab controls to sanitation standards to their willingness to treat a single woman — she chose a clinic in Cape Town, booked a flight and headed south.

The cost of her three-week IVF vacation? About $6,400, including airfare and hotel stay. Anderson’s IVF — including drugs, procedures, and lab and hospital fees — accounted for just $3,600 of that total.

Oh Kevy. I wanted to cry when I read this.

It is so hard to deal with this, but, if it is what you want, there must be a way. If a child is what you both want, I do believe one will come to you... some way.

I found out pretty young that I have difficulties in carrying a child and so I had high risk pregnancies. So scary.

But, before I found a doctor who could help me {and at a high cost to us} we both felt, wow, it was so many emotions. Can't pinpoint just one.

I send gigantic, ginormous hugs to you and your wife through this time.
Actually, could you give it to her for me and her to you? Thanks. :snap:
